I told you all that I took a spanish placement test, and I tested into spanish 2. I got my scores today and here is how the grading works out (out of 850 pts).

Spanish 1 = 150-300 pts
Spanish 2 & 3 (they are scored as one class for some reason) = 301-480
Spanish 4 = 481-540
Spanish 5 = 541-600


I got a fucking 475, the cutoff for spanish 4 is a 481. if I had correctly guessed one of the 20 problems I guessed on I'd have gotten into spanish 4. That means that I know everything in spanish 2 and 90% of spanish 3. I have an appointment tomorrow to talk to the advisor to get into spanish 4. If this doesn't work I have to take spanish 2, 3 & 4. if it does I just take spanish 4 and graduate in may.

This is fucking crazy. Considering how I guessed on 20 of the 80 problems I don't see how she could not let me into spanish 4. If this woman doesn't let me into spanish 4 I'm going to kill somebody.

bullshit. go to the student health center, get diagnosed with ADHD, and go back to the testing center and point out how you have this 'terrible affliction' and they didn't properly accomodate your needs. tell them they risk legal action if they don't remedy this situation.

I don't think you guys appreciate how serious this is.

If I get into spanish 4 then I take it in spring, don't have to pay for it (I get grants and everything from 12-17 hours is paid for) and I get to spend the summer goofing off and looking for a job. I was planning on spending a few weeks with my friend in montana, a week camping with my dad, etc.

If I get into spanish 2 I have to spend upwards of 2k on tuition, I won't graduate until December of 2007, I won't have any free time in summer to spend with friends and family and I have to live with my mom & dad for 4 months.

Jesus people, this is serious. THis is nordstrom level serious.

I really know only very little. I bought some CD's! I can speak many languages fluently though such as Canadian, Australian, British, Irish and of course English.

Truthfully I would not push graduating any faster than you have to. The real world in the corporate world is not as fun as its made out to be. Good luck to you though!

Besides, I can always go to an easy graduate school if I want to get out of the real world for a while.

I'm also kinda pissed that I have to spend about 1-2k extra in tuition if I get into spanish 2.
