So today I am in the gym... squat, squat, squatting away, minding my own business when in walks this guy who is the epitome of those that should be pwned by cameraphone documentation for curling in the rack...

First off, let me say that we have some pretty nice racks where I lift...

They are sweet for squatting or doing olympic lifts. Got the nice wood flooring to stand on, plus the rubber matting on the sides. Plus, they have some nice olympic bumper plates to use (not ivanko, but similar)...

Anyway, so in comes this dude. And do be honest, half of the weak asses in the gym would probably juice to look like this guy... Decent arms, shoulders... Calves. Couldn't really lift for shit, but he looked like he could and about 205-215.

Anyways, the guy sets up the trays, puts a straight bar on it, and proceeds to put a 10lb olympic bumper plate on each side, and starts curling! I am like WTF, not only are you curling 65lbs in the rack but you are using bumper plates!!!! Dude steps it up to 25s on each side (for a whopping 95lbs), puts on a BELT and toughs out a few serious reps for the next few sets... :rolleyes:

In case you are curios, the rest of his workout consisted of pushpress with the bar and 10lb bumpers again (I will excuse his use of the rack here)... Pushdowns, and some behind the back wrist curls, again in the rack!

Fucking bitchasses I tell ya.

I got to get in on this cameraphone shit.
 
HAHAHAHA damn some dude in my gym did that othe other day..
he came in looking beefy and mean had a real PL belt i thought he was gonna squat some serious weight..puts the belt on and proceeds to do Curls in the rack LOL

i almost shit my pants :)
 
The racks here are actually even better than those. That is just the basic. But same manufacturer. They are sweet. I wish I had a pic of em.

It is a sweet gym. Lots of nice shit that I will never use. Lots of basketball courts. Olympic meet size indoor pool.

Hell, check out the cardio area... this elevated ring with skylights and shit above the main lobby...

If I ever wanted to do cardio, which I don't, it woudl be much nicer there...

Getting caught using a camera phone to take pictures at my gym gets you one warning, the next time cancels your membership. :evil:

Yes it has happened, to a group of high schoolers who wanted to sneak some pictures of the ladies working out.

I don't think they would say anything to me...

Besides, it is an athletic facility, not a commercial gym.

LOL at the kids, you should have gave em a protein bar and told them not to do it again, but to email you if they got anything good!

Right now, some football players from the college are working out in our gym for some reason. One of the pretty big but fat guys goes to the bench, slaps on 225, and does it 5 times. That was his warm up set. He topped out with 315 for a bouncing triple. I thought he was gonna crack a rib. Who warms up with 225 when you can barely hit 315 for a triple?

Dude. You should see the guys here. I don't think I have seen any of the squat. One guy cleans. I don't think any of the others lift even!

One dude is like 6'6 prolly easy 280 (big kid, not fat) obviously line. Dude is benching like 185 for reps!

WTF are they teaching these kids?
 
That same fat guy was doing behind the back wrist curls in the squat rack, I shit you not. One of the 3 was a big black dude about 5'8". That guy had massive shoulders, and was barely pressing 65's on seated dumbells military press. He got maybe 5. I don't under stand it.

WTF with dudes lifting no weight having huge shoulders? I don't get it either.
 
hah most of the lifts mentioned are using the weights i use

but im just under 200lbs so maybe its semi excusable
 
OK I understanding dissing the guy for using the squat rack for curling but why would you put someone down for the amount of weights they lift? As you probably already know not everyone has the same goals. Also maybe he was sick and was weak or just not feeling it that day.

The guy in the rack I did not make fun of his pushpress even if it was 65lbs

For the curls with bumpers in the rack with a belt, he deserves it.

As for the big 6'6 guy, he is at least a full year into college and a football player. WTF is he doing with 185.

As for the shoulders guys, I was just making a comment that I can't believe their shoulders are huge with such light weights.

No where did I make fun of anyone. Accept maybe the football guy. But really, with a strength coach you reallly should be doing better.
 
I wasn't making fun of the weights they lifted, but how they went about it. Lets say you can bench 225 for a max triple. Would you warm up with 185? And I just thought it was odd how the dude with huge shoulders wasn't putting up really heavy weights. This guy had to be 215 or more at 5'8".
