do you guys have set hands you play or do you go by feel?

example, you have 5,6 suited... do you play? i usually fold.

how bout ace and a 5 or 6 or something??? play or fold? or do you go by how the game is going?

i usually tell myself if i have an ace i play, no matter what... but that will bite you in the ass more times than not.

online is completely different, i'm talking in person...

also, if it's a 3 table tourney, when do you really start getting aggressive? one table left? only when it's a one vs. one showdown?

i see some of the SHIT hands they play on tv and win with, but if i do that sort of garbage i'd lose in a heart beat...

do you know your shows? do you catch yourself showing too much?

i've been wearing headphones lately, it seems to keep me occupied... also, no more eye contact...

i've played quite a bit and i am better than average but not as good as good.. . i can make the final table all the time... i cant win... if it pays 4 spots, i'd finish 5.. if it pays 7 i'd finish 8...

You play percentages. Best way. Its logical. That is why when you watch the Pro's on TV they get pissed that some amateuyr goes all in with a 4-7 offsuit and there are a pair of 4's and one 7 on the board, the pro has no idea to think the guy even kept a 4 or 7 in his original hand. Most pro's would have folded pre-flop. A pro's hand of maybe of pocket Kings is usually gonna win.

Alot depends on who raised you and what position you're in.

Never play ace rag unless you're in late position and just on a steal.

I would play a 5 6 suited in late positon against a tight player if the raise isn't to bad.Usually your tight players are only raising with ace face or better and if the flop comes out blank you can bet into him and he most likley will fold.

Most of your great players are tight and aggresive.
I have read several books and The Real Deal by Phil Gordon is a great book,i have read it twice.

P.S

Headphones are geigh.I watch and listen to everything at my table and i can't imagine being able to do that with headphones on.

Just like in other poker games, you really have to study the betting habits of the other players and the outcomes. If you can get a reasonable handle on that, then it will guide you on those marginal hands.....

Another thing i will tell you is that the best tool i use during a tourny is this:

Most of the time after the blinds have been raised there are normaly only two players in a pot.When its you and another player do this............

As the dealer is flopping out the cards do not watch the flop,watch the other player and if the flop has hit him he will look away from the board quicky,either at his chips or even directly at you.
If the player just sits for a few seconds and stares at the board then the flop most likley missed him and you can steal the pot.

Sometimes i have to remind myself to do this especially if i'm looking for an ace face to flop but this works almost everytime.

U could play any shit hand pre flop if the blinds are cheap , theres no reason not to. I could go on forever....I have a big tourney tonight..Cant wait its the 4th week, im still in and have 3 weeks after this...

Thats not bad.
Sometimes when you limp in with a good hand it bites you in the ass.

yeah I think its best to get the flop money and make them fold before i lose on a flush or something that can bite on the ass
but sometimes, i do slow play something when i know i have the nuts....its hard for me but i do it and i do win sometimes
