Holcomb takes starting QB position from Couch

Yet another "lower paid" QB gets the starting position from the million dollar man. Kelly Holcomb was just announced as the starter over Tim Couch.

Basically Holcomb is still under 1 million dollars a year until 2004 - and that's dependent on clauses and bonuses. Couch got a 8 million dollar 4 year bonus - just for extending his contract.

Professional sports continue to entertain me if only for the repeated bad investments teams make in players of suspect caliber.

it ain't a science bro. while some salaries are ridiculous and you can even argue that these athletes are paid way too much (although they aren't when you look at the money they bring in), but evaluating talent is not a science.

Holcomb seems to make better reads... Couch gets confused when the chips are down. I am a Pittsburgh fan and one thing you can count on with Couch is that he will fuck up at least once or twice per game ultimately costing them the game.

Holcomb shredded Pittsbughs porous secondary last year in the playoffs, and I am sure that helped him get the nod.

I think the real travesty is that Charlie Batch is making twice the money that Tommy Maddox is to sit the bench and be the back up... Maddox hasn't said much, but he is definitely a little pissed.
