hiv in steroids

THIS, my friends is the reason that I'm still discriminated so much for being open about my HIV/AIDS status. So many people to teach. I suppose you think you can get HIV from kissing or a mosquito too! Seriously though, this type of stuff Does really affect my life. I get kisses on the cheek instead of the lips EVEN from Gay men because they FEAR. <sigh>.

No offence intended here.........but what do you honestly expect from us????Just because YOU have this disease and have HAD TO come to terms with it........it doesnt mean we all should. For me personally(and no im not ignorant to the transference of this disease)....it scares me shitless. And yes ..........it would be quite possible to catch aids from a mosquito..........if,by chance,it had gorged on the blood of an infected individual previously.

This is just my opinion bro,and as much as i sympathise with your condition, you CANNOT expect the rest of the world to embrace this condition in the same way YOU have to.

:rainbow: Yes, that may be your opinion, but it's things like that, that keep people on pins and needles. Do you ever worry about all the other transmittable thing floating around out there as well as HIV? Would you turn your blind eye to someone who has cancer ? It is treatable, just like HIV, but it's not cureable yet...but one day it will come. Then we will not have to worry about people being afraid. Knowledge keeps thing moving smoothly through life.

i dont know how old you are or how much life experience you have, but as wonderful as it is to dream about "acceptance",its a long way off coming to fruition.Aids is just ONE issue in a very long list imo.No matter how hard you try to remove the stigma that surrounds this disease(and others).....i doubt you ever will. Its like tryin to convince a racist that we`re all the same underneath..............thats another topic that will never be resolved.Bigotry,prejudice,ignorance,dis-association from things we refuse to accept.............are feelings that are here for eternity. The more people try to force their wishes and opinions on others(like not being afraid of aids for example)the more damage you actually do in reality. The people who have it in them to be comfortable with the situation deserve praise, but there are many who simply cannot and will not look at it as "just another illness".Sorry if my words come across as ignorant or somewhat prehistoric.............but we all have our own "cross to bear" in one way or another.

:rainbow: Hey Macdaddy,
I understand your point on a person not wanting to change. Have you ever thought, what it would be like to be in the shoes of the other person? As for my shoes, I am 39yrs old. I have lived with full blown Aids for over 13 years now, so I know that area all to well. I'm a Gay man, so I deal with that in life as well. So, I guess you could say I know about life's " experiences". More than I would like to know, but I can't change my history. I can however hope that our world will no longer include the words " Bigotry and Prejudice". You see I believe everyone has it in themselves to change, they only have to want to make that step in the right direction. Otherwise it will never change.
I have no doubt that you are a good Person, and I respect you thoughts.

I respect your views also my friend.............and i wish you wellness and happiness in your future.Dont waste it trying to convince people of things they cannot relate to or possibly understand...........instead, spend more time focusing on yourself, loved ones and the people who support you through all this.............who cares what "other people "think anyway........i know i dont.
