High RBC, Doc stopped HRT.

A little high on the red blood cells and Doc cut me off for a while. 3 weeks cold turkey and Im feeling it. Going to get my blood work done tommorrow so hoping the RBC is down so I can get back on and start feeling myself again.

Heres my blood work numbers. You experts out there take a look and tell me what you think. I'm always looking for ways to improve my numbers (if ya know what I mean.. :))

Hows everything look?

My red blood cell count wasnt off the charts, but slightly elevated, IMO. I guess he is just being cautious which is good.

So, donating blood will lower your RBC? Will donating screw up any of your other numbers?

Trying to fix the problem rather than hiding it seems like a better option to me.

BUT, getting "cut off" every time your numbers get a little elevated sucks ass too. So its definitely a double edged sword.

testosterone will elevate your rbc hemoglobin and hematocrit.(aas are indicated for tx of anemia) donating blood is not" hidding" the problem it is taking care of it. talk to your Dr. about this

How fast will your T numbers drop? When I first started my numbers were LOW. Total was 285, Free % was 0.9 and Free was around 82. E2 was 59.

Now with my with my Total @ 1200 and Free up respectively Im curious how low my numbers have dropped over the last three weeks of cold turkey. At 200mg a week for 6 months now Im positive Im shut down. Hell, if my RBC comes back high and he wants to leave me off for a while longer, I may do a good PCT and try to restart.

Ive continued to take my Letro because I have E2 issues. No gyno, just that my E2 creeps up. Now that I am in tune with my body I can sure tell when my T drops and my E2 starts creeping up

I have the same issue with high RBC,hemo and hema - I came off for about 5 months and the counts were still pretty high after normal levels pre trt. I wouldn't expect your count to drop that much in three weeks unless you give blood.

Off for 5 months? Oh hell no. I'll be going to make a blood donation. If that doesnt fix the problem, I'll be spending my $$ elsewhere.

My doc mentioned the idea of that, discontinuing trt. I decided to drop my dose from 110mg/wk to 55mg every 3rd day and donated blood. Haven't tried the labs but im sure it has helped. Donating blood reduced the frequency of headaches i get.

Mine are higher than yours. Doc suggested giving blood (which I just started doing) and taking 2 asprin a day.

You could have been dehydrated for the test as well. That will elevate the levels. Do you have any pre-HRT levels to go by? Mine were already right on the highest number before HRT (probably from smoking, which I'm trying to quit now.. rather do therapy than smoke!)

I'm giving blood in a week. They test HG there to make sure they're not too low. Last time I have it was HHH (over the max) and they still let me give. We'll see if that's still the case this time.

I should note that my Test was in the 400 range and my E2 was high as well. So I started Adex .5mg once a week.

Well almost a month cold turkey and my blood came back. RBC, Hema, and Hemo had dropped into the normal range but on the fringe of the high side. He gave me my shot. Only 100mg. Ive been on 200mg/week for a long time now. He said he is gonna keep me cut back for a couple of weeks and look at my blood again. If everything is back to normal then he will bump me back up.

I still think Im gonna give blood so I dont have this hassle again. Walking in getting pinned and leaving is so nice without all the extra drama. But then again I guess this is for my health. :D
