High Gi First Meal

Senior Woonaki

New member
I know the conventional first meal consists of low gi carbs and protein... Would it be off the wall to eat hi gi carbs instead.

QUESTIONS:
q1: do you carb deplete when you sleep

q2: would having the hi gi carbs help get you out of a catabolic state

q3: when i have oatmeal with my whey protein for my first meal, is the oatmeal defeating the purpose of taking whey protein by slowing the absorption...

q4: what would be the negatives of switching my first meal to 1 serving of Maltodextrin and 1 serving of whey protein.

In a way you do

not at night, maybe during the day

q3: when i have oatmeal with my whey protein for my first meal, is the oatmeal defeating the purpose of taking whey protein by slowing the absorption...
no, it's actually helping the process because whey is converted at a 50-56% rate to glucose if ingested solely w/o digestive preventive measures. Thus, the oatmeal let's the body breakdown the protein slower

You will get hungry fast, and you might gain more bodyfat then you would w/ oatmeal while not getting much more benefit out of the equation.
