High Box Squat 405

I was doing box squats today on a high box (21"). The weights were going up easy, so I went all the way to 405. When the weight got heavy, I didn't sit back far enough, and my knees went too far forward.

When I was using lighter weights, my form was better. I just wanted to see what it was like to have 405 on my back :D .

Question: What height box do you think would make me parallel?
 
Congrats on the PR, Mike!

If you have some pants with a stripe down the outer leg, try sitting on various height boxes and taking pics/vids from box level on the side. You should be able to tell by the stripe if you're parallel, assuming it doesn't shift.
 
i would guess a 14-15 inch box would be close. take some vids of you squatting on the lower boxes and we will tell you.

My hamstring flexibility is poor - even on the high box I felt a stretch in the hams. I'm working on SLDL and low GM's to hit the hams.
