hi - question from a new person

Hi all-
I was wondering if you could help me out a little :) sorry if this has been covered ad nauseum, I couldn't find much upon searching or combing the archives manually.
I'm looking for ways of reducing the loss of muscle mass while losing fat (as I am losing weight right now). Specifically, I know training is a major factor here, and that is what I am focusing on - is there any routine in particular you all would reccommend? Of course if there are any supplements that you can reccommend I'd also be interested in that (not clen though, it would interact w/ a prescription I take).

Hi Celicia,

How much do you weigh currently and what is a rough est of your bf %? What are your general fitness goals? What is your fat loss goal and in what time frame?


There are at least a few things I could offer now

1) Keep your protein intake high, and I dont mean 2 eggs in the morning, a little piece of chicken for lunch and 3 oz of fish for dinner. More in the range of 1 gram per pound of LBM.

2)Dont slash your calories. Going too low is an excellent way to lose LBM.

3)Train with the correct intensity and frequency to maintain or encourage muscle growth, depending on your personal goals.

This is a lot of really general stuff though. Hopefully you can supply us with some more specific info and some other more knowedgeable ladies will reply as well.

I would require more information

Weight, Bodyfat% (a range) and your activity level - how you train, when and how much.

Depending on your physical condition... there may be types of "cardio" that are good for maintaining muscle... while helping in the loss of fat. However, I wouldn't suggest sprinting to someone who wasn't at least in moderate shape -- perhaps on a bike... but ... well, I'm digressing here.
