i'm back from vail, it was a lot of fun; very cold. My dad and I went skiing for two days. i made him take me out to eat at really expensive places. We went to bars together (people don't card me). We were pretty much drinking the whole weekend, my dad just kept buying me drinks. Anyways I made him buy me a new sweatshirt, and some ear rings, along with a hat. over all, decent weekend. although i missed people a lot and i'm leaving agian tommorrow and won't be back till friday night. Welll just thought i would stop in and say hi.

Your dad can't be all bad. He buys you cars, clothes, and vacations.

true, but it's not easy for me to accept that the way my dad shows affection is connected with spending money on me. it was a fun trip, but it's weird being back home and everything is back to normal (my dad not speaking to me)

Sounds like your dad focuses almost entirely on his businesses. They tend to be quite demanding and respond well to hard work so people succumb easily to "overworking" them.

Much like a private practice for a doctor...they are hard to combine with a happy home life because the doc "gave" everything he/she had at the office.

Hope you had fun though. I just got back from snowboarding for 2 days and almost broke my arm, nearly dislocated my kneecap, and suffered a mild concussion. At least I didn't pull a Sonny Bono.

Snowboarding is fun.. but very painful. It could just be cause I suck, but I haven't been in that much pain in awhile.

Maybe I shouldn't be trying to do 180 mute grabs when I've only been snowboarding for a month. However, I am the master of the 45 degree inverted cartwheel using no arms.

Skiing in Michigan does not compare to Colorado or Utah or Wyoming or Idaho or California. Colorado and Utah are the best.

That is a good point but the snow in Michigan will be comparatively icy and hard. All resorts have very easy beginner slopes. Just swallow that pride.

I highly recommend lessons. I used to be a superb skiier before I moved.
