Here's the jacket i bought

And I got a jacket too :qt: I didn't like any of the Harley jackets because they were just too uncomfrortable. This one has fullbody armour (which is removable) and zip-out lining and vented as well. The jacket is bad-ass, comfortable as hell and best of all I got it 50% OFF!!!! (The Harley boots were also 75% off.)

The helmet was custom but still didn't cost nearly what a similar PLAIN "Harley Davidson" helmet would have set a body back. One of those PLAIN *just like everybody else has* helmets would put a FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR DENT in your wallet. What kind of nonsense is that?

What can I say? I am wierd.... and CHEAP. :lmao:

Here is the back of the jacket from the other side. It has a little feaux garter belts with red ribbons (red is my fav color), lace up sides (very bustier-like) and spider's web (I LOVE spiders) and the patch on the top right corner is the shit. It has a stiletto heeled red boot and says, "These boot are NOT made for walkin". ;)

you plan to wear the jacket before you buy the bike, bro?

I wouldn't be able to pull that one off

ill long have the bike by then. plus what if it's discontinued if i buy it then. i've lost too many things in life by waiting :(

Dude,

Ya gonna put all that on a sporty? Man If you are going to get a bike get one a little bigger, you'll be much happier.

Sportsters in the old days shook and rattled so much ya had to tighten the foot pegs every time ya filled up, and the tank only holds a couple cups of gas so that is often.

Now they make em 1200cc's but I think it is cause they just have the facilities and someone will buy em cause they always have.

Trust me when I tell ya, you should put down what you want to spend for the Sporty and get at least an older dyna or wide glide. Then later spend a few thousand on little extras, most older bikes already are pretty well chromed and have extra little parts. Remember an an exhaust can cost a couple k and chrome is a never ending purchase.

Stock Harley (not a Sportster) $22,000
Chrome and extras $40,000
Good looking bitch on the back Priceless

They should give ya the bike and just let ya buy extras. For the bitch you are definetly on your own!

The guys that haven't ridden much get Sportys for their old ladies, which is a bad idea, they have a high center of gravity and are very narrrow. Plus they are tiny bikes. No meat and no substance, no power, no chick appeal.

Take it from an old schooler. I bought my first harley in 1962 the old bitch on the back was born many years after I had my second and third bike. The first three were Full Dressed, now that got some punanni, works today too.....

Please rethink the Sporty, you'll be glad you did. But nice jacket. And by the way I haven't seen anyone wearing army stuff riding a HD lately. Just sayin...

thanks. some good sugg's.

i'm still learnin' about bikes/harleys. which is why i don't want to spend too much right away. i don't know what i may want 1 month later, or 1 year later.

i could easily afford a fatboy - but then the same thing happens. what to get? and much more money is involved if i get a wrong one.

i think the shield, back rack, new handlebars, saddlebags and more chrome makes it look less 'sporty' imho. but the high center of gravity, no power and narrowness worries me.

plus once i get a harley, i can start going to bike nights every week - and i'm sure i'll receive a million more tips on what to get. maybe even find a great deal.

The Old Grump says:

Nope, if you have a fatboy at least you have somewhere to start: they are great bikes. And you can make a fatboy anyway you want: windshield, bags, footboards and a ton of chrome.

If you go to a rally w/a Sporty everybody thinks you are either :rainbow: or you dont know shit about motorcycles.... straight up. Kinda like going to a Chevy dealership and *looking for* a Corvette and leaving with a 4 cylinder Vega.

... just sayin.

But he is old so WTF does he know?

thanks.

i'm very outgoing and warm so i think most people will be more than willing to give me advice. plus i already have a lot of harley friends.

but i don't want to waste or regret money/purchase just as much as the next guy. and $20g's, is still a lot of money. even for me.
