Help with Protien Shakes

elf

New member
I'm 15 5' 10" 170-175, and I wanna start taking protien shakes. I've read the articles and stuff but I don't understand them, and please don't waste yiur time trying to explain it to me.

I just need a clean cut, simple answer....

Is it ok if I take one protien shake about 90 minutes before I work out and one right after I work out?

And which brand should I get? Bodytech or ON? Or any other brands that are good.

if you are going to drink shakes you might as well drink 3 a day. thats what i do. one mid morning, one mid afternoon, one before bed. of course i am no expert thats just what works for me.

I've heard nothing but good things from ON. I have All The Whey and it seems to work fine for me, but I want to try ON for my next protein. I always take the protein before and after a workout. Then I just eat high protein bars and meals throughout the day and before I go to bed.

I have one about an hour before my workout and one right after with a meal. The post-workout meal (pwo) is one of the most important cause your body needs to have lots of stuff replaced. ON Pro-Complex has (2 scoops) only 260 cals, 20 from fat, 3 gs of carbs, 1 g of sugar and 55 gs of protein. It also has lots of vitamins in very small amounts. The other thing is it has glutamine in it as well to help recovery.

Want more protein in your diet, before you piss away your hard earned money on powders, try raw eggs and liver tablets(Uni-Liver by Universal Nutrition) (Chew the liver tablets up, don't swallow them). No, you won't get salmonella poisioning if you stick to non commercial eggs and go for free range eggs. Liver tabs and eggs will nourish your body while providing you with the protein that you desire for practically nothing.
