Help with Microsoft Excel ! ! !

I am doing homework for computer class. I am making a simple worksheet. I am supposed to calculate the taxes to be paid and the tax rate is 17%. Now, I have to calculate the taxes for three months, but the assignment says I can only put 17% in the first cell and that I have to use an ABSOLUTE CELL ADDRESS in the formula. What is an ABSOLUTE CELL ADDRESS? Much thanks, Iron

Ok, what's the cell that has 17% in it? Let's say it's C4. Then in the cell you want to put 17% in, you instead put:

=$C4

And then its value will directly mirror that of C4. You can change C4 to 8% and all the cells you put =$C4 into, will mirror that.

Ok, I understand now, thanks a lot bro, I appreciate it! Iron
