Am I over-training if I am working out four days a week at approx 2 hours a workout. For example on Mondays I am doing chest and tris: all exercises are 3x10 at weights that allow only 10 reps then failure.

BB Bench
Incline DB
Decline DB
Machine Press
Cable Flyes
Burnout Light DB Press

Machine Tri Press Down
Cable Tri Overhead Extension
Cable Pushdown
DB Overhead Extension
Kick Backs
Burnout Light Skull Crush

Is that too much? Am I lifting too much/long? Have made some gains in six weeks, but thats six weeks. Thanks.

Two hours in the gym is too much for me, but everyone is different. I don't like to work chest and tris together, I usually do chest and bis, back and tris, shoulders and calves, and then legs.

My chest routine is something like this.

incline bb press- 4x6
decline bb press- 4x6-8
flat db press- 3x8

For triceps I would do this.

closegrip press- 4x8
elbows out extensions- 3x10
skull srushers- 3x8-10

Too much imo, especially on triceps. Remember that triceps are a small muscle group that don't require near that much attention. And for chest, I do two, maybe three compound movements, followed by one fly excercise, 3 sets tops. That's it.

Remember, quality over quantity.

Looks fine to me. Id go with 5 days a week. Ultimately you have to experiment and find what works best for you though. Ive always trained with high volume/high intensity. Meaning most all my sets are too failure or very close. Stay patient and consistent and all the results will add up nicely over the years! Keep KILLING THAT SHIT!

If it is working then stay with it. As long as you are getting consistently bigger and stronger keep at it. No one can tell you what works best for you. You just ahve to learn that with trial and error over time. Experiment. For me, 4 days a week is optimum and I spend about 1.5-2 hours in the gym, but alot of that is rest time.

As for triceps, I guess every one is different, but mine respond well to some volume. But then again my idea of volume on triceps is 4-5 exercises for "1" set each lol, so take that for what it's worth lol.

Figure out what works best for you. If it works use it, if it doesn't try something else.
