I just had acl and miniscus surgery done about 2 weeks ago. I haven't been hungry at all and the doctor said not to lift until I'm off crutches which will be about a month (his orders). I jumped on the scale yesterday and have lost 25 pounds!! This is very bad for me since I want my weight as high as I can get it. My question is has anybody else here gone through something similar? If so, how long did it take to put the weight back on?

Yeah I had a bad car accident a few years back. Had a lacerated liver and pancreas, multiple fractured ribs, left hemo/pnemuthorax(collapsed lung with blood and air in it), and ruptured spleen. Had to have the spleen removed(splenectomy). Went from 245 to 205 in under a month. Couldn't eat for shit. Took me about 6 months to get back to full capacity.

BRO.....FORGET ABOUT TRAINING and worry about your rehab bro. I've had my left acl reconstructed, left foot reconstructed and left wrist reconstructed.

I learned my lesson with my knee bro, i tried getting back earlier than i should and prolonged the healing. just DO WHAT THE DOC says bro, go to your rehab and follow through with it

I know two days after my surgery i was already in rehab and they had me on a bicycle doing 2" forward and 2" backwards motion, i slept in a device that constantly was moving my leg etc. I quit going to rehab about 5 week and thought i would be fine.

DO NOT DO THAT BRO. forget about your weight, forget about losing some lbs and just get your knee heeled up and fully recovered. Honestly bro, i didn't squat heavy again for over a year from my surgery. you have the rest of your life to lift, just make sure your knee recovers properly so you can train heavy then.

If i remember right i was about 245 when i went in for surgery and was down to about 210-215 before i started training again. Same with my foot and wrist in my motorcycle wreck, lost a ton of weight but you have muscle memory, its true....it will come back and come back quite fast. so relax

Stay off that knee for 8 weeks, I am sure you have a brace, you can work everyother part of your body, just give that knee a brace.

Can do calves, hamstrings

he's not going to be using that knee for much besides walking at week 8 bro and even then he's not going to be walking that great. ACL is a hellacious rehabilitation process

No shit, never mind trying to do hamstrings and calves. Worry about rehab first, everything else later.
