I'm not sure what the macros come out to be. Have you tried tracking everything on a site like FitDay?
Welcome to the board btw. I'm up in southern NH right now. Feels like summer is coming quick after last week.

I will check out that site. Thank u:) We had temps in the 70s last week and now back to 40s!! Such a tease!

Hi! Im 5ft5in prob 125 -128 range. One spot on my stomach below belly button i cant lose. My doc said i have to have surgery to get it flat. I have a feeling not enough food some days too. A friend gave me a diet to go on with no dairy and no whey protein. He said have mostly tuna salmon, sweetnpotato, lamb, nuts and green veggies. What is the reason you say no soy?

There is something I heard called cold sculpting or cool sculpting you could try before you get surgery while you keep dieting. I have no idea if it works, I just heard about it recently a cpl people were trying down here before going under the knife

This whole artical is a good read this is one of the main reasons
Soy and Thyroid Function
Researchers are in general agreement that people with previously diagnosed hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) should not take soy supplements. There’s not as much agreement, however, about soy and diet. The isoflavones in soy inhibit thyroid peroxidase, which produces T3 and T4, which can make a bad situation worse for those with diagnosed hypothyroidism or, as some suggest, help cause hypothyroidism to begin with.

It’s also important to note that soy isn’t the only food that has goitrogenic effects. Other foods in this category include (but aren’t limited to) cruciferous vegetables, corn and lima beans.

You aren't eating enough based on your hieght and weight.

This is the diet I recommend to most everyone.

This is a simle general diet plan I suggest eating 5-6 small meals a day calories should be about 10-12 x wieght

Diet wise start with a ratio of
40% Protein
30% carbs
30% fats (good fats)

Stop eating carbs after 6 p.m.

You should be getting a gallon of water in a day you can also drink green tea decaf and other decaf herbal teas as much as you like.

Once a week you should have a cheat meal this keeps your body guessing and leaves you with a treat to look forward to.

These are approved foods (if it is not on the list you shouldn’t be eating it)

• Turkey skinless breast
• Chicken skinless breast
• Fish
• Lean beef
• Buffalo
• Egg whites
• Omega eggs
• Skim milk
• Low-fat cottage cheese
• Wild-game meat
• ezekiel bread

I hate clen. Makes me feel like shit. It's an effective burner, but not if you can't get up out of a chair coz u think it heart's gonna explode. Clen isn't something to screw around with, that's for sure. It'll make your heart race like made and you'll likely get some serious jitters.

I experimented today with an ECA stack to see how I'd fare with that (ephedra, caffeine, aspirin). It worked. I could've lifted for hours today. I think it's supposed to work like a fat burner. I'm sure it's still not all that great for my ticker, but I feel better than when I played with clen.

Hey figurechamp, I def dont want the jitters! I feel like I cant sit still if I take adderal. My friend mentioned that she used ephedra a while back and wanted to get more. How many times a day do you take the stack? Also what does the aspirin do? Maybe I can try that?

i generally like your diet however soy is like sugar.. its an attractant to bad things. I understand though vegans would rather mess with soy than meat.. however you can get ample protein with cage free eggs without worrying about killing an animal.

soybean oil should be avoided totally. check ingredients.

i think you are being too hard on yourself.. the fat that is left on your stomach is essential fat, if you comp you can get rid of it. but keeping it off permanently will be difficult without stims especially as you age your metabolism slows down. you could try upping green veggies and upping cardio and that will help a bit. but based on where you are at it in your avatar its gonna get harder and harder to trim up... not like you are 200 pounds and have a ton of room to lose weight, you look great right now.

Hey Stevesmi, what kind of protein do you suggest? Whey or egg white or rice? I wonder what the reason was my friend said not to have whey protein.

I'll be honest... I can't remember specifically what the aspirin does. I did do the research but that was awhile ago and I remember thinking to myself, "ok that sounds good. I'll try that closer to show time." but I'd guess that it thins the blood, thus making it easier to rush into the muscles and provide a pump??? I dunno. But it's working. :) I only take it on lifting days, half hour before heading to the gym. I tried it again today. Retarded pump again. Couldve lifted for hours. And I feel a bit euphoric. Not sure if it's the eca stack or just nerves in general in prep for this competition. Or if it's even all in my head. Haha!

I would suggest trying a different diet before adding in ECA or clen. I hated clen, Ive run it several times and hate how it makes me feel. I do not think it is worth the small amount that it does help.

I had the same problem with lower abs. But I started carb cycling and noticed a huge difference in that area.

Good luck!

Correct asprin is a blood thinner.

I agree with trying out a new diet. Every time you tweak something you see what works and what doesn't for your body.
Right now you look in great shape. That spot below the belly button is the last to go. Its the hardest. I hate it.
I am not a big fan of Clen either. I believe its over rated. I would try a cup of green tea in the morning and another after lunch. I find it works just as well yet it is healthy and not unhealthy like Clen.
Best of luck.

Thank u! Green tea it is ! I checked out that site you mentioned and started logging foods today:) . Also i looked up some recipes that Jamie Eason had online and made some turkey muffins. My 8 yr old actually likes them.
Im wondering what everyones thoughts are on casein protein. I read that its a good protein to have at night. Maybe just once a day?
Another question I have is should I run in the am as soon as i wake up on empty stomach or should i have protein before?

what are turkey muffins? :)

heres the recipe

Hey superqt,
I really like the list of "qualified foods" that you posted but wanted to ask if apples and grapefruits were also accepatable and if not, why?
Thanks!

GI on most fruits are high. That said, I you are not training for a competition and have diet and training pretty dialed in, then I see little problem with fruit. Not A LOT of fruit, but it is doubtful a couple servings of fruit will reduce your results.

However, if you add fruit into a diet, there is less "wiggle room" when it comes to cheating or being lax some days. The fruit may have to be considered a type of daily cheat food.

For flat belly why don't you try some breathing exercises and belly exercises. For diet you should count calories. The number of calories intake and physical activity should be balanced.

I breathe everyday and it doesn't work to build abs. Apparently, I am breathing wrong.

Calories in/out is important, yes. But the breakdown of the macronutrients plays a huge role also. It is not super complicated, but it also is not always as simple as calories in/out.
