HELP ME!! Weight issue

Tink!

New member
Didn't know if i should put this in female or in diet..so you can move it if you want....here is the problem.

Those of you who know me, know i have battled with my weight A LOT!! I need some guidance. As late as febuary i was 102 lbs. I had a tumor in November, had it removed, then got pregnant in january...still maintained my weight...right before i lost baby I went down to 96 lbs because I was so sick. In two weeks i got back up to 97.6 thought i was going the right way, was eating what is normal for me. I started to lose a bit of weight, so I started to eat more. Every hour and a half to two hours, everything i could think of. Good you say?? YEA NO!!! I have been LOSING weight!!! I am down to 93.4 pounds now. Every one says eat! eat! eat! in which i do, perhaps not the right things??? I am freaking out. First I am losing the awesome curves i had for being so little..none of my clothes fit me, but more importantly i am afraid my organs are going to start shutting down on me. I take in about 3000 calories a day..which is a lot for me..lol sad i know...but perhaps i am not eating the right foods??? Oh don't know if it matters, but i am 5'5'' and 26.
So, i am going to go do some research, but thought i would start here as a lot of you have helped me out so much in the past.
Thank you so much!!!

Damn Tink, you're having a rough time of it, sorry to hear that.

Tough break. I'd say try eating lots high calorie fruits like watermelon, have 3 big tea spoons of peanut butter everyday, make sure you take mulit vit, and drink muslce milk with each meal should help keep if not gain weight. Sorry about your bAby.

Hey doll :wavey:

What are you eating? Could you list out what a typical day looks like diet wise.

Sorry to hear things are still so rough for you.

Cheers,
Scotsman

A good friend of my experienced problems of maintaining weight. It turned out to be a
pancreas problem. She's taking meds now and is doing much better.

I'll pass on the type of meds as soon as I talk to her.

Hey there! Sorry about the bad stuff.

My first recommendation would be to get to a Doc & pull a complete blood work-up and have it reviewed by an endocrinologist. It sounds like whatever the cause may well have had everything to do with the miscarriage.
:worried:

Sorry to hear about your rough times...

I will say you look beautiful first off...
What kind of tumor? Also, when was the last time you had your thyriod checked? You may have a hyperthyriod condition popping up, you and your body has definitely gone thru alot already. I'd get you thyriod looked at for sure.

Keep us posted, I will see if I can think of anything else. Take care. Joe

^^^^^^^^^^^^

Agreed!

Any hyperthyroidism in your family?

Wow, bng we must have posted at the same time...
It may have something to do with it.
That's was one of the things that pointed to the thyriod, since it doesn't just control your weight. It affects many things in the body.

i had a dermoid tumor in my ovary..had the whole ovary tooken out.
As far as a typical day of eating, i am super picky lol
i start out with toast and a banana early morning
oatmeal
anpb and j sandwich
raisin bran n milk
anpb and j sandwich
banana bread ( some kind of light snack)
Chicken, rice, veggie bread with butter
ice cream
cereal

that is what i had yesterday anyways..lol
i eat a lot of sandwiches, tuna, chicken, pb& J, ham
lots of cereal and oatmeal or malt o meal

I don't like fruit unfortunantly...just bananas..but i might beable to choke it down for the cause

My doc who is a women's health doc just tells me i have always battled with my weight, but my thyroid came back normal..all my levels were normal..not anemic..blah blah...lordy...i don't understand..lol

Well if you don't like eating fruit try drinking like fruit juice. Its gonna have a lot of sugar so don't over do it. You want to eat healthy still. Try seeing another doc so you can be tested or maybe it's another issue with you.

hi tink. i haven't seen you here in years.

is your diet consistent? has it been like ^^ that throughout the time when you've had this problem?

i hope it works out for you!

See another doctor for a second opinion and full blood workup. This one sounds like she doesn't want to bother.

Full blood work and make sure they check for all types of cancers...

Good luck.

You need to get a Dr. who is a little more of a specialist. Start by asking for a referral to an endocrinologist, and if she won't go that route make an appointment with someone else. There are some crazy complicated interactions between the thyroid & pancreas as well as other things, to have a gyno doc thats up on it all.

On a side note, there's probably a billion peeps out there wishing they could eat like you without gaining!

Maybe you should try nutritional drinks like boost. They were made for people who need help maintaining their weight (like the elderly, cancer patients) Even 2 a day would be 700 extra calories and have very good nutritional value. When I bulk I drink 4 a day along with my food intake and protein shakes. Helps me gain weight fast.

I agree, I've also seen bad labs come back because of dirty / tainted specimens or equipment. Labs not done correctly. Unless your Dr. has an in house lab, it is out sourced to various testing labs. An Endo will be a much better bet.

I'm assuming this weight thing just popped up, so for her to say :

Then she's giving up way too fast, I could see it if the stress caused you not to eat but, not with what you've described.

The cancer screen would have popped up with an effect on the WBC... But, since I don't deal with cancer PTs, and it's not something I deal with on a daily bases you may want to look into talking to an Endo about the possibility.

Tink! Good to see you back. How's the baby?

BTW, see a doctor. Don't listen to any of us for health advice. We're just a bunch of chat bots.

BTW2, send more pictures. :D
