Help Me, Please!!!

I have eaten Quaker fruit and cream instant oatmeal, but I wanted to try eating steel cut oatmeal because its suppose to be much better for me. I bought McCann's steel cut Irish oatmeal. There is only one problem: I HATE THE TASTE OF IT. How can I prepare it so it will taste good and still be healthy? The best I've done is stirring in a spoonful of strawberry jam and that makes it barely palatable to me. Is there any way to cook it to infuse some flavor into it? Please help!

Try using some splenda or other no call sweetner to sweeten it up a bit...for a maple and brown sugar taste ...i like to add in some splenda along with a couple tbsps of sugar free maple syrup. YUM!! I also like to add cinnamon and imitation I can't believe its not butter spray...When I am feeling fancy I like to throw in some blueberries with my oatmeal....of course those are three seperate ideas...please don't try all at once!!

Hope I sparked something!

Thanks for the great ideas, ladies. Hey Stellartiggy, is "Broly" a reference to DBZ? My son got that new game and all I've heard for a week is about "unlocking Broly"! Just curious.

Add some cinnamon and applesauce.

lol! I've no idea. I don't control those things on this site. :)

Oh. Oops. Now that I look, there seems to be quite a few "good broly's" on here. And look, I see that I'm an all natural...whatever that means!

Seems to be a ranking system... most likely based on karma hits or number of posts...

The "title" under your name is based on how many posts you have, etc........ By going Platinum, you can choose a title........

As for the oatmeal: Splenda + nutmeg + cinnamon; same but with walnuts & chopped apple; for a treat add heavy cream or milk; or make pancakes...... blend oats with egg whites (3-4) in a blender with spices & vanilla & cook like pancakes.....

Wow...how can anyone NOT like steel cut oats? I add just a tad of cranberry chutney with mine...I get it free at work every morning ( I work in a restaurant and it's one of the only safe things on the menu!)
