I will be purchasing a new handgun within 2-3 weeks. I don't know very much about guns, so I'd like to bring attention to these 2 guns. The first is a .45 cal, and the second is a 9mm.. I'm just looking for a light, compact, and decenly powered handgun to carry with from time to time.. My concieled weaons permit class is in 3 weeks, and I need a gun by then.. I'd appreciate any suggestions, or opinions reguarding the guns below, or any other gun that you think would suit my requirements..

GLOCK 27 .40 CALIBER YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED

Ok, excuse my lack of knowlege with "gun talk", but that Glock is just slightly less powerful than the above .45 right?

I have a glock 21 45 cal. Its great to shoot. Buy whatever gun feels best in your hand. If you can't hold it properly you won't be able to shoot properly.

get a desert eagle bro

HARMONICA PLAYER,
I HAVE THE GLOCK 26 WHICH I CARRY AS A BACKUP WEAPON AND OFF DUTY. IT IS A 9MM HOLDS 10 ROUNDS IN THE MAGAZINE AND ONE ONE IN THE CHAMBER SO 11 TOTAL. YOU CAN GET A GRIP EXTENDER FOR THE MAGAZINE SINCE IT IS A SMALL GUN SO YOU GET 3 FINGERS VS 2 AROUND IT. I ACTUALLY DID BETTER WITH THEIS WEPON ON MY QUALIFICATIONS LAST MONTH THEN WITH MY FULL SIZE GLOCK 22 .40 CALIBER. THIS MONTH WE HAVE A NIGHT SHOOT AND I WILL BE USING BOTH WEAPONS SO I CAN COMPARE BETTER FOR YOU. BUT FOR BASIC SELF DEFENSE THE GLOCK 26 IS A GREAT CHOICE.

The 26 and 27 have the exact same frame.

I own the 26.

If you get either, make sure to get the finger extension for the magazine....unless you have girlie-sized hands. :)
