Help are my calories too low?

First off I'm about 250 lbs 5'11 and 26 years old. I started watching what I've been eating for the last 2 weeks and I've been loosing about 2 - 3 pounds a week just eating normally. My intake is around 1500-1800 calories a day which is possibly too low? Bodyfat is around 32-34 % :(

The first week I did someting like an atkins diet with high protein low carbs and I lost about 4 pounds.


The last 2 weeks I've been eating about the calories have stayed the same but carbs are no 50% of calories instead of to 10-20% I had the first week.

I hit the gym 3-4 times a week and try to play some type of sport for 3-5 hours a week plus cardio on wednesdays.

I'm not looking to loose alot of weight fast just about 2 -3 pounds per week. My goal is to be 220 by 11/01/2002 so that puts me loosing around 3 pounds a week.
 
I was thinking it was too low I think my metaoblism is shot to hell but here's what I had the last few days


8/26

6 oz beef tenderloin
2 coups of brocolli and cheese soup
1.5 cups of grapes
15.5 oz can of Chili beans
1 banana
~ 1400 cals


8/27
1.5 bananas
Turkey Hoagie
Bagel with cream cheese
15.5 oz chili beans
1 peach
Teriyaki chicken (frozen)
1900 cals

8/28
1 peach
Teriyaki chicken (frozen)
2 banannas
1 foot log turkey and ham sub
1.5 cups of brocolli and cheese soup
~ 1500 cals


When I first started I just strated breaking my foods up to where I eat about ever 2-3 hours. I usually never get hungry but since I've started this afterabout 2 hours my stomach actually growls when it's time to eat again.(which never happened before). So is my metaoblism just moving really slow or am I going to have to eat more "junk" type foods?. My calories were higher consistently when eating all meat and I was putting dwon like 2 cans of tuna and 4 chicken breasts and steak and shrimp, but not much higher. I just want to make sure I'm not killing my meatoblism (or maybe it's already dead).
 
EAT MORE , eat enought in every meal to get you through the next 3 hrs ........ if your not hungry in 3 hrs you have over eaten............ or if you are hungry in 1.5 hrs you have not eaten enough .. chicken , steak ,fish whey protein plenty of veges and h2o moderate cardio fat burning range

Thats true. If you dont get hungry in three hours your eating too much. On the other hand if your hungry all the f**king time you probably need to eat more. AT your weight I wouldnt go below 2.3k cals.

I eat when I get hungry but I break it up. For instance I would use to eat a foot long at one setting but now I break it up and eat half and the other half 2 -3 hours later. So I"m not hungry so I can go up higher and not halt my weight loss so that was my main conceren. I just avoid foods that have a lot of calories in a small amount (Pizza which I can easily eat a medium which equates to sayy er 3200 calories :() I'll keep chugging along at what I'm doing and not worry much about carbs being 50 - 60% then because I'm too big to worry about that yet right :mix:
