HELP, ANYONE HERE KNOWS HOW MUCH 2.5MG GLYBURIDE EQUATES TO IU OF INSULIN?

Glyburide is a second-generation sulfonylurea or oral hypoglycemic agent .

It basically stimulates the pancreas to pump much much more insulin (regardless of carb intake).

Now glyburide some say is more dangerous than humalog injectable.

I did take 5mg once and went hypo right away depsite consuming carbs. its very long half life.

I know this shit is dangerous etcc..

nway tell me how much IU of Insulin does 2.5mg Glyburide equate to? and wht about 5mg of glyburide (mega dose)

Two things:
-5mg is not a 'mega dose'
-There is not an equivalency of IU's of insulin to Glyburide. It's like apples and oranges. Not Granny Smith and McIntosh.
Glyburide is a medication made for Type II (NIDDM-Non Insulin Dependent Diabetics) almost exclusively.
People are using insulin and not oral agents-simply because insulin works better and is easier to understand and time.

ya but still how much insulin (IU) can glyburide pump in ur body? any idae?anyone?

cuz i hear this thing is more dangerous than humalog.

there is not equivalency betwen IUof slin and glyburide.they're 2 different things.
yes ,it's more dangerous than insulin(it significaly absorbs within 1 hour, peaks about at 4 hour mark, drug half life is 10h and still detectable in24h,so how are you planing to control your bl sugar?)
IMO humalog is the" safest' insulin to use for our purposes(it asts fast ,peaks at 2h ,and is out ouf sistem in about 4h0humulin R -is much motr trickier that humalog

IF ITS MORE DANGEROUS THAN HUMALOG, THEN WHY RISK IT? IS IT WORTH DYING OVER ESPECIALLY SINCE WE ARE NOT WELL EDUCATED ON THE SUBSTANCE.. JUST THINK ABOUT IT BRO...
