Geetings to all members of Elite fitness forums, we need your help and support especially the UK members.

My name is Scott Downey, I run the UKStrength website and forums which are based in the UK but, open to everyone.

I am organzing the UKStrength & Elite Strongman Events Raw Power Challenge to be held at south leeds stadium beeston west yorkshire in the north of england, on july 4th 2004.

This is an open class competition and is open to everyone within the UK (may do an international open next year).
The events are subject to change but I will keep everyone updated.
The events are
1.Cross Carry 210kg (husafell style)
2.Log Press for reps 125kg
3.Squat for reps 260kg
4.Deadlift for reps Ford Transit Van (1440kg kerb weight, approx 750lbs effective weight)
5.Truck Pull, no ropes, no rails 15 tonne 30 meters for time!

There will be a charge of £5 adults (with free entry to prize draw) and £2.50 children under 16.

The majority of all takings on the day go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign to help with their mission of gaining £30m.

This event is also acting as a forum to announce that resident UKStrength member Rob Okey is planning an amazing solitary journey accross the frozen planes of the Norwegian country side.
Over a 1000 miles of wind, rain, sleet snow and ice, accross the native wilderness, hills and the Norwegian countryside on foot.

Robs amazing journey was inspired by the tragic loss that he has suffered this year.
On April 19th at 2100 hours, Robs bride to be lost her brave fight against cancer after many months in the care of the Royal Marsden Hospital.

This tragedy has motivated Rob Okey to pack his life away, quit his job and undertake this amazing test of physical, mental and spiritual strength in memory of his loving fiance' and to help the royal marsden raise £30m.
Visit Rob Okeys website at www.walknorway.com and pledge your support in any way you can.

It takes a strong indivual to cope with the loss of someone so dear but, it takes a super human will to take this tragic loss and do something as brave and courageous as this!
