Heavy Shoulder Press and Bench Press?

I read in a magazine that if you work your upper body more than once a week that on one day you should do bench press and the other day do heavy shoulder press with barbell on the other day because pressing heavy loads requires significant recovery time. Is this true or can I do them both on the same day?
 
I do shoulders and chest on the same day. Chest press and sometimes fly, and shoulders raises and press. Then i take 4 days off and go again. Working great for me. your muscles usually recover in 48-60 hours. If it takes significant time to recover, back off a little on the sets count.
 
I've always done chest and shoulders on the same day as well. My chest days are Mondays and Thursdays so I think should be enough time to recover
 
I noticed I cant OHP as much When I do bench on the same day.
Should save it for another day to be able top handle more weight and progress faster, plus that area will be getting hit twice a week.
 
i bench on mon, OHP on weds, bench again fri's, swim on sun, then OHP mon, bench weds, OHP fri's swim on sun.. u should get the meaning by now?
