Heavy Barbell Hack Squats Does anyone do them?

Hi guys Was just curious to know if any of you guys do heavy barbell hack squats and what you think of these. Ive found it to be my strongest free weight exercise. Just recently got 565 off the floor at 185 body weight. Is that good strength? And what exactly do they train. I do them by getting the weight up by any means rounding the back using the legs etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. ThanX

uh yeah.................. thats really good freaky strength. i dont know anyone that could hack squat that much weight.......... nice lift.

i however cannot do them. my hamstrings are too big, and my legs are too short. so the bar catches my hammies on the way up, preventing me from doing this exercise, but they work great though.

X

ThanX Exodus Your feedback is greatly appreciated Ive read your posts and have alot of respect for your opinion Your the first to give me any real feedback on the subject Since I havent had any luck looking up heavy hack lifts on the internet and doubt I could ever do them in any type of competition ThanX again

Anymore views on this subject?

I had the hamstring problem as well but mine aren't that big. I found it was more a form issue.

It definately took me a few tries to adjust to the form. Not too many though. Maybe since I had done them on the power rack alot before even trying them from the floor. But for me proper form is any means to stand up with the weight and lock it out off the floor. Not necessarily text book form. They can be awkward for sure, Ive lost my balance with 560lbs before, th weights just hit the floor a little harder then usual haha. You might want to try them on the power rack first at different height settings before attempting them from the floor. Then again they arent for everyone. Must not be since I dont see anyone doing them
haha ThanX for the response
