Heating oil sucks

There´s a 4000 Litre (~1000 gallon) tank in my basement.

it´s ugly and the oil costs a fuckload of money.

My parents house in holland has fossil gas fuel pipelines, with a separate little burner in every room. that was faster, cheaper and easier and doesn´t require a fucking TANK in the house

I hope you're writing all this stuff down. When you become rich (and famous) you can get exactly what you want and how you want it.

I remember you making a thread or post about not caring about money. lol It's your life...

I heat my houses by incinerating kittens.

I recall having a conversation at age 10 with a friend about starting a business selling plucked canned live peewits to heat rooms with.

We´d sell plucked and feathered ones. I don´t remember what the pros and cons between the two were.

youre a student. you have time, and youre meant to be resourceful. learn how to make a burner that utilises waste fryer oil and heat your house for the trouble of doing it, even if you set it up to run permanently in the most important/used room

God damn, you're really fucking smart. That dont work if it gets super cold, without having to heat the oil first.

yes, which is why you use an inline electric heating element, using the same principle as glowbulbs in a diesel engine - then you build your heater so that the oil line (or alternatively, the entire fuel tank) is heated by the burning oil itself

hiatussin you get used fyer oil from restaurants, take away places...anywhere that oil is used for cooking then discarded. theyll usually give it to you for free since it costs them money to dump it, so youre doing each other a favour

go to...journeytoforever.org or a similar site and take a look around, youll eventually find links, schematics etc etc and youre set

What is your average BTU ouput per kitten?

I'm using lemurs right now and might change.

I burn tires in my basement. Sure it's a little fragrant but the flames sure put off a lot of heat for a minimal price.

Dude, been there done that. Read most every page of that site. I can't find any Red Devil's Lye to make biodiesel. You dont want to go to McDonalds to get oil, there's too much other junk in it, especially water. biodiesel.infopop.org or whatever has a discussion forum about this, so does www.frybrid.com . The best place to go for waste vegetable oil is to a chinese restaurant or to a place that uses a ton of it and already filters it for you, like a potato chip factory.

FYI though, it's not the same idea as a glow plug in a diesel. You're trying to warm the fluid to a level where the viscosity is similar to heating oil when you're using WVO. With a glow plug you're heating the fuel for more complete combustion so that cool fuel doesnt quench combustion. Another issue with using WVO is the glycerin in the oil. Injector pumps dont like that. Water is even worse. Pressures inside a diesel engine can get to 10,000psi just in the injection pump, not even the cylinder. Water at 10k psi really does damage to diesel engines.

Lick balls, biatch.

lol kiss my butt ;)

you dont need "red devils lye" just get lab grade sodium hydroxide. and if youre worried about water in the oil, just heat it up.

i know a bunch of guys making biodiesel from shitty wvo, its not toooo hard, because, well...theyre monkeys ;)

anyway, it isnt a difficult thing to do if youre resourceful. ill let you know how it goes :)

What kind of vegetable oil is most common down there? I dont know what it is here, but if you check out the grease traps from a McDonalds especially, the oil is worthless.

The injection pump in my particular truck isn't supposed to like more than a 20-50% mix of bio, but I want to try it.
I dunno what the US law is for posession of concentrated NaOH, if I can have as much as I want of that.
