There has been a great deal of postings of how to use hCG. They all seem to be based on a single post by a person that has the login name of Dr. Swale. I decided to do some investigation about this "doctor." I started this by doing a google search or ["Dr. Swale" ] { NOTE: all google and pubmed searches will be demarked by brackets [] } and found a number of posts but only ones on body building sites had anything to do with TRT or hCG. ( Please do a google search youreself for "Dr. Swale" and don't forget the quotes.)
At this point I became suspicious, actually I had been suspicious for some time, and checked out one of the old posts archived on a body building site. I went to this URL "http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/anabolic-zone/59873-pct-dr-swale-another-bb-site.html" and found the original post. In this post the good doctor says "I'm just running to catch a plane for Las Vegas, attending the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine International Conference. I guess they are supposed to publish an article I wrote on how to administer TRT for men. Wish me luck!." This is a lead on how to find him.
I then did a google search on ["American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine International Conference" "Dr. Swale"] and found 7 hits all pointing to the original PCT posts on body building sites. At this point I shortened my search criteria to only [ "American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine International Conference" ] This produced a very interesting result. On a site called "All Things Male" ( URL All Things Male - Center for Men's Health ) I found a Dr. John Crisler DO. ( notice it's not MD ). On "All Things Male" you then click on publications you find a link to Reports written and published by Dr. Crisler:. One of them is titled "HCG Update." If you open and read this paper you will find the very same advice that the non existant Dr. Swale posted. I have located Dr Swale!! He is John Crisler DO.
On the site "All Things Male" says "Leading TRT expert Dr. Crisler is now available for consultations". So Dr. Crisler is saying he is a leader in TRT. So lets see if he has published any articles in peer reviewed journals. I went to Pubmed. Pubmed is such a great site. It has just about every article published in peer reviewed journals that have been printed going back many decades. So using Pubmed I did a search for [ "John Crisler" ]. I got zero hits. So maybe it's the fact that I used John in my search. The next search I did was just on Crisler [Crisler]. This returned 100 hits. I read the titles of all of them. None had anything to do with TRT or hCG. One did have something to do with sex hormones in mice. One of the authors was named Crisler but it was a C Crisler and the article was published in 1966 so I have strong doubts that it's John Crisler at "All Things Male."
So it appears that this "leader" has not published a single article. But maybe my searches are not looking in the right place. John Crisler isn't an MD he is a DO. This means that he is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Osteopathic Medicine has it's own journal called "Journal of the American Osteopathic Association." Maybe pubmed doesn't have articles from this journal, unlikely but possible. So I did a search on Pubmed for [ "Journal of the American Osteopathic Association" ]. This search returned 6799 articles. I suspect that this is every article that has been published in the "Journal of the American Osteopathic Association" and John Crisler DO hasn't authored one of them. Some leader!
Now the question comes up as to why I would go to all this work? I have some training in medicine and have been studying all of the peer reviewed articles on Pubmed about Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. There are 9577 articles about hCG on Pubmed. None of them seem to support Dr. John Crislers' theory about hCG useage. I am currently reviewing all 9577 articles on Human Chorionic Gonadotropin and am putting together a paper about it's use in regards to PCT in people that use steroids. Obviously 9577 articles is a large amount of reading and few of them directly relate to PCT. So some conclusions will be drawn from what is in the articles and I will make all listings available so others, my peers, can check on my work and see if I have misinformed the community. But I must point out that as of this date my studies tell me that Dr. John Crislers' theories of hCG doesn't hold water and misleads many people in the body building community to the point that his ideas are counter productive to the process of preventing catabolism/crashing after a cycle of steroids. I will support this statement in my next paper on hCG.
