Having thermostat issues, e.g. icicles are forming on my sack

Bitch, it takes me til 11pm every night to get it to 65 degrees in the house. I don't leave anything on when I'm at work, and I can't use my pellet stove cause I haven't had the chimney swept.

But I can't really complain much, just got more ambiens and hydros today so all is well. Counted my CR's just a few minutes ago, 135!

just be a man and chance that shit!!! you'll be nice and toasty engulfed in flames anyways so it's win win

Ya'll are too slow

"A properly cleaned and maintained pellet stove should not create creosote, the sticky, flammable substance that causes chimney fires. Pellets burn very cleanly and create only a layer of fine fly-ash as a byproduct of combustion. The grade of pellet fuel affects the performance and ash output. Premium grade pellets produce less than one percent ash content, while standard or low grade pellets produce a range from two to four percent ash. Pellet stove users should be aware of the extra maintenance required with a lower grade pellet, and that inconsistent wood quality can cause serious effects to the electronic machinery over a short period of time."

You haven't been maintaining your shit correctly, then Pudds.

55? Shit dude. I wouldn't mind that but I doubt I'd ever get out of bed.

Eh, I live in an apartment on the top floor so I get a bunch of free heat from below...It's about 5 degrees or so outside, thermostat is at 55 and we're comfy....(I am anyway, she has like 4 blankets on) :)

I'm in the land of trees and moisture motherfucker, I've got moss up in that shit.

I have my thermostat set at 55 only because it doesn't go any lower than that. If I didn't have indoor plumbing I probably wouldn't turn the furnace on at all. In college I kept my dorm room at about 40 in the winter, sometimes colder.

Cheers,
Scotsman

junkie alert!

If a man were outside in subzero temps dressed very warmly and was exercising....let's say skiing or snowboarding...and suddenly yanked all his lower body clothing off, wouldn't all the moisture on his scrotum freeze over into a skin of ice?

RottenWillow - I think only if that scrotum is completely shaved. First I think the scrotum would shrink up from the cold like it does when we've been in the pool too long. Then the sack sweat would quickly freeze to a shiny layer over that scrotum.

Now if there was scrotum hair involved I think it wld look like the phone lines do after a freezing rain.

What are you drinkin' in the pic?

you forgot to put "justadd" before the pb in your name when you signed up....

Maybe someone can tell me what that means?? I dont understand Norwegian humor.

LOL

It's a bit of a dated joke. It's from needto's protein bar recipe. I understand they're pretty good, but to make them you had to "just add peanut butter".

Fifty-five? Dude that's ridiculous.

I run hot.

Also as I mentioned earlier we get extra heat from the units below us...so in actuality it is prolly anywhere from 60-70 in here based on how crazy my down syndrome neighbors are bringin the heat.

Random thing from earlier tonight, I had to use my girl's hair dryer to defrost the sliding glass door to get out to my patio for a cig cuz it was frozen shut :)

I keep ours at 62 overnight, and 65 in the daytime. 50 when not home. Helluva propane bill if it's any warmer than that. But that's me... Tight wallet = thick sweathirts & blanket; low thermostat.

oh ok...lol... thanks for explaining.

Just FYI to everyone - the "pb" in "pbhardbody" doesnt stand for peanut butter... although if you could eat peanut butter and get a hard body I would definitely jump on that bandwagon. :)

Hey Chewyxrage - did I see on another post that you live in the windy city? It's kinda early in the year to have temps so cold they are freezing the sliding door isnt it?

I used to live in NW Illinois. Beautiful place, midwestern people are definitely the friendliest but I dont miss those winters or freezing rain in the spring at all. haha

Moved to FL a few years back and it's been great.

we turn the heat (stove) on when the temp inside gets to 57. i set my bedroom to 60 and it's comfortable.

Not in Chicago - about 1.5 hours out. It's actually windier here than the city - no hills whatsoever. If you see a hill it's an accomplishment.

I'm used to the winters. I do love Florida though. I try to get down there at least once every year or two to Marco Island. Have a time share there ever since I was a kid.

Nothing to stop the wind huh? I was in NWestern part of state. A little hillier there so it did slow it down alot. It also made it hard to drive when there was ice or fresh snow on those hills! I dont miss that a bit either.

In FL we get the torrential downpours but you can slow to 10 mph or pull off the road and in 10 minutes the sun is shining again.
