Have you ever or would you date someone from the Gym?????

I met my exhusband in the gym, that was enough to turn me off to it FOR GOOD. LOL After I split from him I did adhere to the strict rule though because I will say I am very proud. I never EVER wanted any man to *talk smack* about anything that we did or didn't do. I have been in the gym for over 20 years now and just felt (just as the no dating anyone I worked with rule) it was best FOR ME to adhere to the rule.

But for you, you should do what you feel is best.

This rule sucks. What about a guy who works his ass off and then hits the gym, where is he to meet a lady? I can't believe there are "off limit" places to meet people, seems close minded to me. Aren't you the one who stresses being mature, I think two mature people don't need "rules" like that.

A. I would stick to a partner within 3-5 years of your age.

B. I most likely would not date anyone from my gym as I like my gym and you never know this one may be the schyco that you want to sever ties with.

I dated from the gym a couple of times when I lived in Miami and it worked out great!

ONLINE :lmao: .... where I met my husband.

I didn't say that my way is for EVERYONE. I was talking purely about ME. I thought I made that clear in my post?

For me once I split from my ex I wanted to go to the gym and do my workout. I wasn't there to socialize. I also didn't want men talking smack about me... the whole don't eat where you shit rule. I also worked in a gym for bout 3 years or so, so that made it DOUBLY taboo for me.

I never EVER dated a man from anyplace where I worked - EVER. And I only dated men from the gym when I was very young (and virginal LOL).

I would never tell another how to live their lives, but I only offered MY experiences which I thought I was pretty clear - were right FOR ME. :)

why the hell not????

I got that part, I just don't live my life in absolutes. I absolutely have no absolutes.

People online are losers, I know first hand.

i can undersatnd why you wouldnt date somweone from work, seeing as you will actually still have to work together if it goes tits up, which can be awkward.

but i dont really see the point in making it a rule not to date anyone who goes to the same gym as you. im assuming this is alos because if it goes tits up you will still have to see them there. but if this is the case, then would you also make a rule not to date anyone who uses the same grocery store as you? or library? or hell, even your favourite bar to have a drink?

life is too short to say no to what could be a very good experience because of a silly rule you made.

thats wayyyyyyyyy different. t heres no guarantee you'll see those people. the cast of characters at the gym are the same always pretty much, depending on the size of it. i also hardly ever see the same people at the grocery or even bar/clubs i go to (besides the staff)
