Have to throw the PB out!

Been using 2Tbs daily of Smuckers Natty PB. Stuff taste so damn good that I find myself taking a finger full of it between meals, and in the middle of the night. I'm only supposed to be eating 2Tbs of it daily, but I estimate I'm taking in a good 300-400 extra calories a day from all the picking I do at it. Anyway, gotta get rid of it, ging to replace it with some more flax, however I certainly won't be going to the fridge to pick on flax and fish oil threw out the day. Shame though, I love PB soo much, but if it's going to fuck my diet up it has to be gone :)
 
peanut butter is the greatest food...i can't have it around either. I started eating peanuts instead because it's easier to limit the amount you eat. (sometimes):p
 
The exact same thing happened to me. Now it's flax seeds ground up in the coffee grinder in my shakes.

I am exactly the same way, I am addicted to that stuff. I find myself standing next to the fridge just eating it with a spoon every night.
 
I'm trying to convince myself that I'm just going to stick with 2Tbs daily, but I know it's going to be impossible....especialy around 9pm when I start getting a little hungry and a couple finger fulls of PB sound damn tempting...not too mention my 3am bathroom trips that lead to the fridge for a couple more finger swipes of the PB. I figure one swipe of the finger is about 75 calories, do that 5 times daily and :bawling: ......

I'm a big fan of all-natur-peanut-butter, and MAN oh MAN, if I start, I don't stop. So my solution: I don't buy it

No peanut butter around, no way to add 500 extra cal. to a diet and not even know about it.

I'll eat some extra peanut butter for all of you. I notice I'm the same way and can sit and eat half a jar. In fact, I ate an entire jar standing up around a year ago. I looked down and it was gone. :D
 
Ya i just polished off my last jar. I won't be buying any more. Damn you smuckers with your crack butter.

I mix up like 3 tablespoons into fiberone cereal and drink a glass of milk with it. More calories then I care to think about.
 
That's gotta be a good thing for a bulking diet then, right? Calories = growth?

By the way, if I was to need, say 3300 calories or so (20 x BW) for bulking, but I only got 2500, would I still make gains? Just not optimally right?

And, is it possible to grow in size AT ALL if you eat under maintenance calories? I'm probably going to hear know, but then I wonder why my cousin and I grew over the Summer when we started really getting into weight lifting. Could it be, beginning gains? Or do you just grow to matter what, just moreso if you eat more?

yes, you'd still make gains, maybe not as much, but you would still have them

NO!, of course not.....maintenance=root word MAINTAIN....if you can't even maintain bodymass, how are you going to grow more

you guys are kids, high testosterone, new to working out, eating more.....of course it's starting gains

you grow no matter what? NO! you need to EAT to GROW....FOOD=THE MOST POTENT ANABOLIC

Ditto on can't keep PB in the house when I'm dieting - almond butter either.

Maybe we should start a support group for PB addicts.
 
i hear you guys .. thanks to nclifter I mixed some splenda with some peanut butter and then threw in a little cool whip lite and mix it all up, damn it is SOOOOOO good.

You know what else is DAMN good on a bulkin diet?
A couple scoops of vanilla ice cream mixed with a couple tbsp of Peanut butter....
Mmmmmmmm I think I'm in taste bud heaven...
 
I have a friend that went off to play for notre dame (irons) when he left he was around 240 or so. Now the guy is about 280 according to his dad. When he got to college he ate a jar of JIF everynight before bed. I was told by His dad (jarold irons, oakland raiders-1970's) that it has good protein, oils that are needed, and good fat for building muscle. Is this true? I know this would be horrible on a cutting diet.. but as far as bulking up.. would there be too much fat involved?

HUH? OILS for building muscle, and 7g protein per 2tbsp. is not enough. I think the boy must have gained some good amount of fat, probably w/ him AS use he kept the muscle up.

STOP!!! Ice cream and peanut butter? :o I'd take a dive into the carton and never resurface. I can't have either of those in the house. It's the only way I can handle them.

Does anyone have a suggestion for something reasonable that satisfies those ooey/gooey food urges?
 
I have the same PB adiction! Damn it, I wnt and bought the big jar of natural PB, too! I eat a tablespoon probably 4 or 5 times a day. That's been enough to halt my fat loss....but it's soooo good!

I guess I'm going to have to join you all in banning PB from my house! :-(

I just glad I'm not alone!
 
why is there sugar listed in my natural PB but not in my peanuts... The ingredients on my PB say "peanuts, salt" wtf is this sugar coming from!@#
 
I ended up buying a jar of Smuckers natty PB last night. I promised myself I'd only use 1Tbs daily in my oatmeal in the morning :)
 
I have, on numerous occasions, sat with my refrigerator door wide open and had a half hour conversation with my Smucker's Natty PB jar about why I couldn't indulge in its deliciousness....Peanut butter is a cruel mistress, a cruel cruel mistress!
 
You guys really have to stop talking about Peanut Butter!!! All this talk is making me want to go down to the store and buy a big jar and some whole wheat bread and just sit down and finish it off.

Luckily they sell small jars where I am, so if I do go out and buy some there is less to finish off when I get the craving for some. I learned my lesson about buying the big jars. To many times did that 1tbsp promise turn into like 5 or 10 a day. :)

So stop it...now! bad peanut butter eaters.
