Has anyone ever lost normal domestic mail?

I just sent three memory sticks I sold to someone on the internet. Brand new the mem. sticks would be worth $240. I had Mail Boxes Etc. send the package and they are telling me that they do not allow insurance on normal mail. How can I make sure the person I sent it to is not trying to get his/her money back? How can I track normal mail? What would you guys do? I am thinking about telling them to get lost. Not AAS related but I know you guys know about how the mail system works. Can I be held responsible for this bullshit. Thanks!

Go to the post office and get a delivery receipt request or send it registered mail. This insures they get it and you get a positive proof. Or just use Fedmex or UPS and it is covered to $500 dollars and will cost you 15$ for guarantee and no delivery without signature. -scrh1

That would reaaallly suck If it were AS!

It kind of is if I have to lose $240 and send back $120. That's a cycle right there. What would you guys do now that the shipment has been made and is suppose to be lost?

Well bro, I'd say you have 2 options...assume the guy is trying to screw you and tell him to fuck off or assume he's being straight and cough up the cash. There are many ways to make sure deliveries make it...you should have used one...FedEx, UPS, registered mail, delivery confirmation...the list goes on. Hard to believe you sent $240 worth of goods without regard to insurance or confirmation

The package was returned to my house. I guess Mail Boxes Etc. forgot to put postage on the package. They resent it UPS for free and I have a tracking number. Thanks guys!

The mail system is screwed up lately. I customize/restore Italian switchblades and had been losing about 10% of my packages with USPS Priority Mail. I send/recieve 2-4 packages a day and that adds up to alot of knives. Not so bad if its a new custom job but a couple oldies from the 50's have gotten lost and you can't just replace them. I've had good luck with FedEx and USPS Express Mail.

Drop me an email @ [email protected]. I am interested in talking to you about some switchblades. Thanks!
