Handy Man/Women Help....

Well I just got informed that the whole family has invited themselves to my house for Thanksgiving... Well, yesterday thinking I had to only work one day this week, I totally dismantled my kitchen... Knocked out 2 walls, pulled up the floor tiles, took out the cupboards and countertops....everything.

Anyway my plan was not to buy new kitchen appliances until the "renovation" was done. Well the oven I have now does not heat up past 200 degrees....Is there a quick low cost fix for this? Is it just a thermostat or something? Help!!

Flame thrower.

That's how me and the rest of the devil dogs do it. Can't fix it, light the son of a bitch on fire. We don't have ovens, so we bbq everything. Ton of lighter fluid just for fun.

200 farenheight or celcius, if it is celcius then you got all the heat you need for most things.

yup.....unless the oven has heat levels above 200 which it can;t heat to, its gotta be in celcius

If it is electric, it could be as simple as the heating element needing to be replaced.

PS. Good luck on your renovation. :)

time to deep fry your turkey.

Hey thanks Saint...That is a good idea....
Is it hard to do?

It is Fahrenheit....I can't even cook a frozen pizza in the oven...:(

It is a natural gas oven...so when it reaches 200 F the pilot light goes out....and won't restart unless the chamber is lower than that.

Big4life...I will check into heating elements... Thanks!! :)

you can buy a turkey fryer at home depot for around $50. its easy. heat the oil up to 350 degrees(i think) and you fry it 3 minutes per pound. before you fry it you can rub it with seasoned salt or whatever you like or inject it. best goddamned bird you ever sank your teeth in. its the only way to cook that shit in Texas.

1) Consider catering with butler service & valet parking & ask each family member to chip in, then see if they still want to come over

2) Go out to eat (what I'm doing!)

3) Get a cooked turkey from the grocery store & have each member bring a pre-cooked dish then your oven of 200 degress F will work just fine to heat things up

4) How about catering??? (j/k)

:lmao:

jenscats5 that is great... I was thinking of using one of those huge cable spools for a table and have everyone sit on crates while I serve up microwaved "Hungry Man" Turkey dinners.... I thought it would work well with the atmosphere of plywood on the floors and plastics tarps hanging everywhere...

They did say.."We aren't coming to see the house...we are coming to see you. And don't go out of your way to make anything big...KFC would be just fine." (yeah right...:) )

actually deep frying a turkey is awesome it holds in the juices better than you would think.
