Hand stand pushups?

ive been readin the posts on one handed pushups/pullups and stuff and started thinking about hand stand pushups.
can any of you do these? ive never seen them done but i read u gotta be pretty strong to do them.

I've done it with my legs against a wall. I don't think I could balance and do them. I'd probably flop pretty hard.

No way I could balace enough to do these even if I was strong enough. Jackie Chan does a bunch of them near the beginning of Rumble In The Bronx.

It would be a stupid exercise to do. As you neared exhaustion... you'd be less able to stablize... and you are aiming your neck towards the floor. Not smart.

wow, i just tried these against a wall. I could'nt get an inch off the floor. These are alot harder than they seem!

I don't find these to be too hard as long as my legs are up against a wall. I can get out more than 10, then ROM on these isn't very much since your head is kinda in the way with the floor ;). I have no evidence though so i can't post a video, so no karma for me :(

I can do two of these without the wall... and ive never met my max against a wall (never tried)

hmmm, i might be able to put a short mpeg up with my buddies digital if i can borrow it sometime

funny-- I was thinking the same thing.... the only reason to learn handstand p/ups is to win free shots in a bar...imvho :)

I have wanted to be able to do these for a while now, I just havent had the patients to work on my balance. Just think what a kick ass party trick those bad boys would be!

i have a theory......... when i can standing ohp my 1.5 times my bodyweight....... then my sucky ballance wont be an issue anymore. when i do that weight which is 380 lbs....... i dont belive i will be able to do them.

I try handstand pushups for my fitness training. I use them primarily to get strenght for gymnastic. Its not easy to start right away, so first try to stabilize against the wall... until you can stay without falling, then you can use assistance if needed to start doing the pushups. For this my feet are balanced on a wall, legs together and tensed, toes pointed, glutes squeezed. Facing a wall, my hands positioned slightly outside of, or directly under my shoulders.

I also perform strengthening exercises for my rotator cuffs. It is very important to always remember that joints are delicate.
