Hamstring spasm or tear?

I need some follow up experiences with this. I originally posted a few nights ago that I had an accident in the gym. I was working legs and had just done a set of lying hamstring curls. (I did a set of 8 stacking all the weight the machine had.) On my second set I only did 2 reps... when on the second rep all of a sudden it felt like my hamstring tore free completely just under my ass. The weight all cam crashing down and I got to spend about 5 minutes on the ground rolling around screaming in pain. (BTW guys, for future reference... this is a great way to meet chicks. All the thong butt goddesses on the stair climbers came over to hang out with me on the ground... very sweet and sympathetic reatures.) I was able to get up and walk out of the gym on my own... but it was a VERY limpy, painful walk. Now it is four days latter and my leg still hurts badly, however I can walk around on it... although it is a bit awkward. There is absolutely NO discoloration... no black and blue... and there is no visible difference in how the muscles look on my two legs. (My g/f did measure my legs and the injured on is 1" bigger... presumably from swelling... but there is no bunching or deformity of the muscle.)

So my questions are:
1. Does this sound like a tear or a pulled muscle?
2. If it does sound like a pull, do they hurt this long? (I've never had one.)
3. Could I have a tear without black and blue bruising?

Thanks for all answers.

Pulled muscle.

Torn/stretched MCL/ACL - they never bruise. Range of movement is affected . If it seems difficullt to pull your heel toward your glutes - go to to a doctor.

Can you dummy this up a bit for me. I don't know what MCL/ACL are.

I definitely have the ability to pull my heel toward my glutes. It actually feels good to do it and is probably the least painful position... as a matter of fact I pull my heel to my glutes to make my leg feel good.

And I know this is a really dumb question... but what exactly is a "pulled" muscle?

if it was torn it would ball up in the opposite direction of the area of the tear location. Plus you'd have incredible black and blue marks plus I doubt you'd be able to walk.
