Hammer Strength incline/decline

My elbows have really been bothering me lately and I have been trying to change up my routine to work around it. I can do flat bench without too much problems but incline and decline bothers me. We have HS machines at the gym but I've only played with them. Would they make good substitutes for BB exercises or any other sugestions would be a help...sorry I don't think I can give Karma, it says I have no Karma power.

Dave

PS I also have to change up arm exercises and any pulling exercises, Deadlifts don't bother me but rows really hurt.

For bodybuilding? They're good pieces. They're not perfect, but if you work them progressively you'll grow--simple as that :)

But I doubt they'll help your elbows too much, man. I'd try the Hammer stuff but would definitely look for ways to cure (note, cure, not just treat with pain-killers!) that pain at the same time. If you go into a bit more detail about the nature of your pains, I bet some guys here could help you.

I was doing a strength 5X5 routine for 10 weeks and kept upping the weight each week, it was really working well when i started to get this pain on the outside of my elbows. After reading up on it I decided it sounded like tennis elbow. I decided to ice it after workouts and take anti imflamatories, well the pain started radiating down my forearms and up into my biceps to a point where i couldn't turn my palm up to even roll my window down on my truck. I tried hammer style curls and that works around it a little, i thought i had a high pain threshold but this really hurts. i can feel it swelling during the workout and ice it when i get home. If i lay off training for a week the pain subsides but gets irritated when i start back up again. I am on a test only cycle and read that my muscles are growing faster than my tendons and ligamints can handle the weight. I'm 49 years old, 183 lbs, 5'10" 16% bf
bench was at 225 5X5 when i couldn't take it anymore. Dropped the weight and increased reps and that seems to help. I work 1 bodypart per day once a week.

i dont like them particularly, since it restricts my range of movement, even though i have strict form on all of my exersizes. But since your elbows are bothersome i would try them for a couple of weeks. You might prefer them over the other stuff out there.

Just lift light, high reps and you will over come the elbow pain in no time.

Good luck.
