Hammer iso-pulldown -- AWESOME

I'm a big fan of most of the Hammer machines, so I decided to give the pulldown a go for one of my back exercises in my DC training. My lats got one of the best workouts I've had in a long time...something about the mechanics of the machine makes your lats do most of the work. It takes a lot of the bicep assistance out of the equation. My lats are sore as hell today :)
 
Which HS pulldown was it? Seems every gym I go into has a different flavor of HS pulldowns. Some are straight down. Some are more behind the neck. Some are kind of at an angle to the front.
 
I've been using it for a couple weeks. I ripped my shoulder trying to pull too many plates on weighted pullups. It was a small tear but coupled with a strained biceps... working back was a bitch. The hammer iso pulldown has been a godsend... it barely strains my biceps and really lets me work my lats without further damaging the tear.
 
I use that machine and like it. Actually I've found 5 hammerstr machines I use regularly now. Anyway, I think they work very well, and I'm currently combining freeweights and machines (I hate cables), and making great gains.

i'm also a proponent of hammer strength equipment. definitely an important part of my workouts.
 
Whatever helps you meet your goals and makes you feel positive about your workouts is a good thing. Personally, I don't like Hammer Strength, it does nothing for me in terms of meeting my goals.
 
I use machines when I don't feel like loading/unloading plates because I don't have as much time or if all the benches are used, but anyways I like the hammer pullover machine
 
Yes I love that hammer pulldown machine. It really allows me to keep solid form without cheating. I end up really feeling it.
