HALO 4way split screen play for xbox...........

This has got to the best game I've ever played, but its almost getting played out. Anyone play this and have any tricks or hints, or cool games that go good with certain boards with 4 players?

Ok.

So, I guess my first tip would be, know the maps well, specifically, know where the weapons, powerups, and healthpacks are.


Then, always carry two weapons that compliment each other. Don't carry a sniper rifle and rocket launcher.. or a pistal and plasma gun.. get something good for long range and something good for short range.

I prefer the shotgun/pistol combo... or sometimes the pistol/sniper rifle.

Aim for the head at all times, it does much more damage.

if you are in a head to head battle with someone.. don't reload, just switch to your second weapon if your clip runs out. Most people don't do this, it will get you the kill everytime.

just like in all FPS, jump around a lot when you are getting shot at.
 
all good points Lestat, but I will admit that I know them all too well, I know the boards too well, I know exactly where everyone is at all times by looking at their screen. I do see that you know your shit too man, good shit. The 3 guys I play with still havent figured out why I can kill them so easy by aiming at their heads, I think its 3 shots to the head with the pistol and down they go. The thing that sucks is that unless you know the boards your not gonna be any good, and the 3 guys that I play about 2 nights a week are the only people I know that know how to play, which sucks because I know all their moves and its getting boring. Wish that shit was online.

worst thing u could do. all your tips were good except for this one. this is bad especially if you are being sniped at, any average sniper could take u out since u float and they'll know what direction u r going to. just move left and right, best u can do

This is very true. You can also hit them on their landing since you know exactly where they are going to land.

its free and its mostly halo games. you can get a game of halo any time you want
 
you can use it to play with your xbox. you connect your xbox to your pc via another network card or router.

when you play in halo you select system link play, its as if you are playing an xbox connected directly to you. its awesome

It WILL be amazing, whenever BUNGIE actually puts it out, they keep delaying it, now its sometime in June.
 
Your probably gonna have to see how Mag has his set up, but I am guessing that you would need to buy a router and set it up that way.
 
well my xbox is connect to wireless router which is also a access point for 2 other things( one pc and one laptop)

so I can just use my laptop to download the program and run xboxconnect? cause theres just one 1 plug in the xbox and its already taken up like I said, connected to a wireless router so that it gets the broadband connection
 
I wouldnt know how to hook it up with the wireless router. Id like to know myself, I might fool around with it when I get home.
 
i used to run it with just two network cards. you could do it with one network card if you can connect your pc to your broadband connection with usb
 
If you are getting tired of the same ole stuff, try playing the medium sized boards with Oddball and make it rocket launchers only.

It's pretty fun to play and everyone has a chance to win as skill advantage as much as in deathmatch.

Halo PC.
I say I am in top 5% on Halo PC.
Also damn good at xbox, but the host/non-host issues make it tough to have a level playing field.

If I host you WILL be owned, no ifs ands or buts about it.

I would continue to talk shit, since I find it hard to believe that there is anyone on Elite that could beat me, but since I only play it on Xbox, I will never be able to stick a plasma grenade to your forehead and call you my bitch.

if you are talking about the xbox version, i havent played it yet but most people seem pretty disappointed in it.

get rainbow 6 if you havent already.

Something that works for me is to set it up as if ou are gonna host a game.... pick a map, pick a gametype.

Then back out to the 'looking for games' page.

Doing this is supposed to set the networking software r something.

On the xbox.
Go all the way thru as to the point where you are waiting for other boxes to connect.
Then back out.

My buddy uses a p1 200mhz or something like that.
You dont need a good PC, just 2 netowrk cards.

I have a couple screenshots in TGA format that bear witness to my uber-pwnage on halo pc.... anyone know how I can convert them to gif?

Well it is possible that you are trying to join full &/or locked games.

Once a game has started you cant join.

What's TGA? Do you have Snagit, or another screen capture software? Or some kind of like or something?

I dunno what TGA is.
Halo comes with screenshot ability, but saves em as TGA's.
i can only open them with Quicktime Pictureviewer, and it doesnt have any 'Save As' option in the menu.
 
A big EF slayer match would be awsome.

Alas... I'm heading out for dinner, and I havent had Xbconnect hooked up for months (since Halo PC came out).

But if a group of you start playing then I'll get it going again.
