I didn't see the part about it happening several times. Next time just tell him that you workout faster than him so it would be better for him to wait or find someone else to work in with.

If that doesn't work drop the weight on his phone, toe, whatever is handy.

I just politely tell someone that I have a certain rest between set that I have to use. (Then, I make sure I finish quickly and then help them put their desired weight on)

Unless, it is a very good looking girl. Then, I...Oh, screw it ...that never happens

guys- how should a girl politely say this? the other day this guy asked to work in w/me on the squat rack (all the other racks were being used).
During his set- hes talking on his cell while adding plates to the bar so that took extra time.

Next, he stood at the bar waving to his friend, then did one rep-- & I guess wasent happy w/it cuase he called another guy (trainer) over to get advice-- all this time Im waiting to do my sets!!

this has happened a couple times w/the same guy... so how do I tell him politely he cant work in w/me?

actually- I was wearing headphones!! this guys so obnoxious- he put his hand right on the bar before I could start my set

Then he asks to work in... I couldnt really ignore him

I had this exact scenario happen to me last time I was at the barber. Fortunately I only had to endure one set of it because he was next in line and then a chair was freed up so he sat down and got his hair cut. I then finished my sets without any problem. Next time I'll just be like, "Sorry, try next door at the tanning salon. That squat rack is better anyways." I'll also remind him that his rhymes are weak.
