I LOVE Being Gay
A thought the other day it me, and it made me realize how much I enjoy being gay and just how much I can get away with.
The first part of the thought that hit me was how flirtatious I was. With guys I can flirt, but it subtle enough that I don't realize I'm doing it most of the time, and most straight guys don't even notice that I'm doing it. Gay guys do, and they tend to just as subtly flirt back. And women, well, they usually take it quiet well. They notice it on one level or another, but since I'm not starting at their chest they don't take offense to it at all.
The other part was affection. I'm a VERY affectionate person. I love hugs, kisses, cuddling, and all that stuff. I always hug and kiss my friends hello and good-bye. Many of my friends I'm able to cuddle up with on the couch and watch a movie - and if one of us has to spend the night, there is no "I'll get a blanket for the couch," kinda thing going on. Rather, we it's completely cool to cuddle in bed and sleep, even when it doesn't lead to anything at all.
This kind of behavior would never happen or be welcomed in the straight world. When was the last time two guys who were just friend's hugged hello, much more, slept in the same bed? There would be too much concern over one of the two, or both of them, being considered "gay" and so they don't do it.
Well, I, like all gay guys, have already been branded as such. As a result, I don't have to worry about branding and so can, and do, show affection in my ways, to many kinds of people, in many different places.
It's nothing to walk into any gay establishment from a coffee house, to a bar, to a club, and see guys holding hands or sitting on each other's lap....and no one there assumes their boyfriends just because they are doing that sort of behavior. It's usually assumed that they are just friends showing each other affection.
And it's the ability to show this affection, more than any other single thing I think, that makes me so glad that I am gay. (actually i,m bi since i,v got ms knight as my bitch)
