You can utilize HIIT in pretty much every sport you can imagine.

They are shorter bursts of cardio where you alternate between super intense and less intense bouts of the given exercise.

HIIT helped me lose a lot of weight on the first few months of my weight loss journey. It's an alternate of intense and regular cardio exercises, and supposed to be a more effective routine.

Not necessarily. Better for improving your cardiovascular capacity.

That's HIT (it's been around since the 1980's). HIIT is more cardio focused.
