Ok guys.I have recently lost my job.I lost my gym membership and with all my bills and legal fines (thats a whole nother subject) I can not aford a gym membership even if only 30 buck a month..I need to save up every penny I have for a little while. Now I do have a curl bar and a free weight olympic bench in my basement that I have not used for years. But I just feel like I wont get good results from this I mean I have no choice. But what are some good exercies I can do to keep addng bulk and not get out of shape.I've really been in a rut and have lost about 20 pounds and as soon as i'm getting back into it I loose the gym.Any advice would be great......

bro just keep doing what you did in the gym. no one can tell you what to do you already know.

I here yu i know.I don't mean to have it sound like I'm asking for a routine.it's just since highschool I've been working out in gyms. With all the equipmentin the world and now i go to basement and it's hard to get pumped up and shit with just a bench there.i guess it will just take some time to get use to it...

Wheres theres a will theres a way,We went thru hard times back in the 60s i took a long piece of pipe notched the end where it would hold several size buckets filled with sand---vola rowing maching, same with bench press....use your imagination!!!!

Bench press, barbell rows, curls, behind neck or front presses, etc. All I have is a mega bench at home with squat safety stands, 400 lbs, and lifting straps. You can rely solely on rows for back or you can do pull-ups from a pipe. I haven't worked out at a gym since college -- 10 years.

I think we have all been in tough times (to some a greater degree), but still managed to workout. When I think back to the college-days when I had less than no money I worked out in a basement of a rented house. Those were the best workouts of my life -- music cranking, no shirt, rusted plates of iron. The f'ing collars for the barbells were rusted so they were useless. But it did help me focus on form. If you seeking a bulking routine, the basic movements always worked best anyway -- bench press, bent-over barbell rows, deadlifts, straight-barbell curls, barbell shoulder presses, upright rows, skullcrushers for tris, etc.
The great thing about the gym however is the assortment of dumbells, otherwise everything else (ie machines) is for the average-joe anyway.

Good luck with everything.

LOL, my job relocated me to India for 3 months and damn did I ever have to adapt (lots of CHEAP gear though). Anyway, I know your pain. One of the things you can do for your quads, is take that bar out to some relatively level field and do high intensity lunges (ol' school but it works). Running sprints also blows up your quads. I don't know how much weight we're working with, but you can use what you have and temporarily do some "rest-pause" type core exercises with bench, deadlift, and squats at home. Good luck bro.
