Gulf Stream and the gov't KNEW the FEMA trailers were contaminated w/formaldehyde

The people in Cali pay for the damage themselves, through their own insurance.

They are not sitting on their asses with their hands out and blaming the govt. They did not use the fema debit cards to buy bling instead of improving their situation. They did not fire on relief workers and those trying to help them. They did not loot their own community. They recover quickly. Why can't New Orleans?

The stupidity is stellar.

And if you take the time to notice, I am pointing my finger exactly at the problem.

maybe people were blaming those republicans because they are to blame as the original link said. They should be voted out of office. Even the republicans in that link said you should blame the govt. Maybe the people who are in office are completely incompetent and should be used as a warning in voting for the same kinds of incompetent cronies in the future

The main thing that is stupid here is the same people who support conservatives are down playing the problem the people they voted for created. These people should be voted out of office and I hope they remember these types of things when voting Nov 8

GJ...what is an appropriate time to give people to recover from this type of disaster and move forward?

I deleted this post after reading MM's. I agree with him, but this is a good question in relation to my post.

You ask me that as If I've read what all the responsibilities of the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agencies roles are. The President and Congress define that.

The class action link also points out that people used those trailers and mobile homes during Hurricane Rita and the California Arson. So your statement is total lunacy

Since you support the class action suit, would you support the govt going after those that did not use the fema cards for their intended purpose in order to recoup the money wasted so they could use it to provide even further assistance to those in need?

I figure that rather then tell each other what's wrong with their position, I thought I'd ask the question to objectively define an acceptable solution.

To counterbalance this 'maturity', I'm planning to ridicule every response and call him a douche. :)

The original link stated that house republicans made the report. Why are you turning this political and not answering my post?

What about the mayor of NO and the Gov of LA? They knew the storm was coming and had the resources for mass evacuations. How many lives would have been spared if the mayor would have loaded up all the city and school buses and got people out of there? The resources were available. This is not a Demo or Rep thing. This is a failure of local gov't to act on this ensuing disaster.

Solutions have been stated.

A: Blame the govt. and sue them.

B: get off your asses and WORK to improve your situation, we will help you, again.

I'll let you decide which solution belongs to the appropriate side.

What you need to understand is that the police department still does not have resources. They drive to neighboring counties to do thier forensics 3 years after the fact. The levees have only been patched in the places they broke The Mayor is on his way out. Many people have moved away and have not come back. Many of these people were home owners in the lakeview area. These were a large portion of the money makers in the area. Many doctors and lawyers and what not. Much of the tax base is gone. Not to mention the people who owned thier home in the 9th ward, lower ninth ward , Chalmette, and other places in St Bernard cannot afford another mortgage.

It was originally estimates to get back to normal was 5 years. After 3 years I doubt that entirely

We can argue all night. This is a bad situation for everyone involved. Hopefully the city will turn around.
