So Obama sends troops to the mexican border to keep the illegals from crossing. But once the illegals are here he thinks its a bad idea to "ask for their papers" ala AZ (and fed) law?

Me neither, he's playing politics. Apparently it's ok to think we should stop illegals from getting here in the first place but once they're here, and have possibly killed american citizens to get here, it would be just horrible to inquire if they're here legally or not. This is driven by the companies who thrive on the cheap labor. They've been putting pressure on the govt. to look the other way on this matter for years or face the economic consequences of companies just packing up and leaving. So the compromise position the federal govt. is taking to appease corporate interests and those of the citizens of the U.S, is this mealy mouth inbetween shit that doesn't make any sense if you just rub two brain cells together and ponder the paradox for just a moment. It's still amazing to me that more people didn't find Calderon's lecturing of Congress more than mildly amusing given the fact that his govt. has an economic stake in illegals crossing the border. We give them billions of dollars so they can help against immigration on their side.....and they probably use 1/100th of that to actually doing what it is we give them the money for in the first place. Just a little galling this guy was. lol

And how you can applaud "pay-go" legislation then skirt around it by declaring every spending bill an "emergency".
