Growing, Resting and Sleeping

ok we all know that we grow whilst we sleep. So what about If I was sitting on the couch for about 2 hours? Awake watching a movie, would I be growing or not?

And also What If I was like watching TV ABOUT to go to sleep, being very tired, and drowsy, would I be growing then?

Well yes, your going to grow more whilst resting than running for e.g. That is why most recommend at least 1 rest day per week.

Good sleep apparently is vital though for GH release, cortisol suppression, proper leptin levels (it's a shame I'm an insomniac). So sleep has greater benefits supposedly than watching TV.

On the note of sleeping, given most people say you should consume 30-40 grams of protein every 3 hours, and that casein last 6-7 hours, and moreover, most muscle growth occurs whilst asleep, I'm going to when I start rebulking trying mega casein doses before bed (60-70 grams), particularly as I have noted large dosages of casein whilst cutting have reduced muscle soreness considerably. Curious to see whether this is of any assistance.

You would be growing of course, but sleep is much better than watching tv. I have been told by an expert that watching TV really isn't that relaxing and that it can be quite stressful to the brain. Relaxing he said would be more like breathing exercises or mediation. TV, videogames, even reading are all stressful to some degree depending on the person and what content.

60-70 grams is ALOT, I suspect youll eating Lean Protein, not shakes? With that amount from a shake, itd seem like a huge waste especially how the body wouldnt be using energy.

Im am very interested, keep in touch about this, or make a thread about it, Id really like to see your results.

Yeah, it may be a waste, but remember its casein protein, and normally people consume 60-70 per 6 hours, which is the digestion rate of casein. It was going to be shake - I couldn't make myself eat that much cottage cheese. Also, I train late in evening, and go to bed shortly afterwards, so quite possibly protein demands would be at their highest

I figure it's not going to make me fat, given I will modify the rest of my intake and an additional 30 grams of protein a day is not going to be fattening

Will start bulking again in 5 weeks and see what happens
