Groin injury?

Question -- can a muscle strain in the groin masquerade as testicle pain?

For the past couple of weeks I've been having what I thought was pain in my left testicle, but when I palpate the testicle I can't localize the tender spot. This pain presents as a sort of non-specific throbbing dull ache, like the aftermath of getting kicked in the nuts.

I saw my GP about it this morning and he couldn't find anything, so he has referred me to a urologist. Having my testicles inspected by another man was no fun at all. No lumps or irregularities were found, it doesn't seem to be a torsion, and doesn't seem to be an inflammation of the testicle or the epidydimus.

But now I'm beginning to wonder if I don't feel the throbbing as much from my inner thigh as from my scrotum. It's at its worse when I sit in certain positions, sit on a hard surface, or when I'm trying to sleep. I can be fine one minute then bend the wrong way and there's that "kicked in the nuts" feeling again. I'm beginning to suspect that I'll be wasting the urologist's time.

Oh, one more data point. The morning when I woke up and first noticed this pain was the day after leg day, and I had gone to a slightly wider stance for my squats.

And the urine test showed no blood, which pretty much rules out a kidney stone.

Mr db.

approx 2 years ago I was clearing my Farthers garden for him and this involved a lot of heavy lifting ect the next day my tests had swelled up real bad and I had pains in my nuts I was very worried and went to see my doc he refered me to a specialist and I had to have x rays and all sorts of shit and it turned out that I had pulled a muscle in my very lower back which in turn had inflamed my balls I took some strong anti inflamitaries and rest and this went away and never returned I think I pulled the muscle whilst clearing the garden.
I think that you have probably pulled or injured a muscle bro when you did your leg workout and from what you say everything points to this.

Hope you get it sorted bro good luck.

keep seeing the urologist bro, im sure it could be a musculo-skeletal source in the area but een though he's ruled out the nasties it might be something else that isnt presenting with anything palpable on examination

has he thought about ultrasound, what has pain meds done for it and have you had any change in bladderor bowel habit or colour? and how soon after squat pain did this start

I've postponed the appointment with the urologist after talking with my GP this afternoon.

No changes in bladder or bowel. This groin pain first appeared when I woke up Wednesday morning, June 22. I had worked legs early Tuesday afternoon.

I experienced essentially no change in symtpoms from when I first noticed it, through my appointment with my GP yesterday morning. But yesterday afternoon the non-specific groin ache seemed to become more focussed, or maybe it was just my awareness of it. It became apparent to me that the sensation that seemed to be a constant aching in my left testicle, was not actually coming from the testicle at all, but from the muscles running through my groin and down my left inner thigh. I realized that while moving in certain positions or sitting on certain surfaces felt like I was being kicked in the groin, if I put my hand down my pants and palpated the testicle it was not sore at all. As the day has progressed it has become apparent to me that I have a muscle strain down there. My GP agrees that it's okay to take a wait and see approach for now, since my testicles don't appear to be in any immediate jeopardy. And if I am correct, this is not a urological problem at all.

The urological exam that was scheduled for Monday was to ihave ncluded an ultrasound.

Pain meds have been singularly ineffective. Aleve usually works for body aches and pains for me.

No clue dB, testicles arent my bag, Im a cardiovascular specialist and studied testicular examinations in regards to torsion but thats just to doppler colorflow the blood supply in the testicle to see if surgery needs to be performed. Ive forgotten what the ultrasound examination all it entails, most likely size and if there are echo free spaces suggestive of fluid, from whatever the cause. Maybe an imflammation of the epyditimis or something else or referred pain. I looked it up, barring torsion as that needs to be corrected right away to save the testicle I dont see what the harm would be in waiting to see if it goes away. Could be referred pain, spinal, skeletomuscular etc... causes.
Your testicle is an enigma, sorry, without examining it I have no clue and I dont do testicles, I did my three month vascular stint with crotches, no mas
