Grip strength

My grip strength sucks. I used to use straps and now I'm paying the price for it, however, I dont want to limit my back development due to weak forearms. My question is: Do those grippers work at all? If so, any recommendations? I've started adding in some direct forearm work, but they're not catching up fast enough.
Thanks bros!

I posted exactly the same question elsewhere and, from all that I read, grip training works. There are a couple of good resources:

I had a hand injury as a competitor (fencer) years ago, received bad/dangerous treatment and it wend chronic, so I'm struggling with the same issue. I've done forearm workout for months: NO RESULT FOR IMPROVING GRIP.

I would work on finger strength if possible, some guys get fat hands and ends up actually hindering their grip strength...

I have an Ivanko gripper and consider it an excellent investment. One nice thing about it is that it's adjustable so you can increase the resistance in small increments from week to week.

Heavy shrugs help my grip plenty. I also do reverse curls but they dont help nearly as much as shrugs. Also, try static holds.

Re: your K message request for an Ivanko link...it's out of stock at the site I bought it from. Just search for with google/ebay and you should find a place with a good combination of item and shipping price to your area.

Thanks again bro!

Also, do you mean farmer's walk?

Sorry, what are farmer curls?
As to forearms, I've done forearm workouts for months, but I guess my problem was with my hand muscles, proper.
