Graphics card question.

I use a G-Force mx 440,not sure of it's stats at the moment.I just got a Radeon 9000 for christmas,and I'm not sure which one is better.Any ideas?

i think all the gfmx's are horseshit... I have a radeon 9700 in one machine and a gf4200 in another... generally the ATI's have more options w/ the hardware and software too...even my radeon 9500 i had before selling it smoked the 4200 gf

that radeon is better. the geforce mx's are kind of like the celeron equivalent of an intel processor

Of course they are if you wanna dump $500 for a video card. The 9600 XT is a realy good card. I'm not too sure about the 9000. I have a 9500 and I steadily get high FPS rates on games. With the drivers that ATI/catalyst is putting out, there's no reason not to get a Radeon. Remember to check ATI's website constantly for driver updates. They just released a new one last week.

I seriously doubt any ATI card can beat an equivalent Nvidia Card.

I currently have an FX5200 and it smokes the Radeon 8000 I have in my other PC.

If you are just a novice user you won't notice the difference between either. Granted 9000 is better, but if you already have a gf mx440, I say just sell 9000.

not novice,I'm planning on a career in 3d animation and need something of quality while in school.My g-force does the job but at a fucking slug pace.

If you are gona be doing 3d animation, ATI 9700 all-in-wonder would be a great tool.
