grand canyon trip!??

looking to go back into the canyon 1st week of may. i was wondering if anyone knew any good trails to go from south to north rim. and about how far is that. i was looking to go for about 10 nights down this time. but i want ot go from south to north, and if possibe turn around and come back down the north and back out the south. i plan on pushing it down there and putting on some miles. any help would be appreciated

cost should be relativly cheap as i will take MRE's to eat. so most expensive part with be gas and then permit to hike into the canyon. is that what you were looking for? i wont be staying in any hotels. all hiking and i will bring all my food? not sure if thats the answer to your question

I've never done south to north and back, but I've done many south rim to phantom ranch and back day hikes, and IIRC it's 26 miles roundtrip by Bright Angel trail and 20 miles roundtrip by South Kaibab trail. South Kaibab is a lot steeper and I don't think it runs through Indian Gardens, but it has less mule shit
