Tint's legal in the front where your at? I've been pulled over twice in the last month or two for having tint up front.

Looks like wha the messicans out here drive except their's is neon colors with 40 inch rimjobs
Nah, man. Need fake Chrome bolt-ons to fit in So Cal. Maybe a huge dent in the rear bumper and front fender panel in a different color.

tint in front here is legal as long as it's the 35% really light stuff. People go darker though, of course. :)

Are there practical benefits to tint, or is it purely aesthetic?

r u asking if there's a practical application to reducing UV exposure to the interior?

fine product, butt I'm knot sure of its UV/UA blocking abilities

Does tint actually block UV rays?

Also... isn't the heat much more destructive than the UV rays anyway? Does tint help with the heat?

r u asking if putting things in the shade make them cooler

I'm asking if it really makes a practical difference using tint.

If on a hot summer day, the car is going to be 125F without tint, will tint make it 123F or will it make it 100F?

And what portion of the effect is from the reflector and what is from the tint?

I suspect the reflector is doing most of the work. Actually, I'm willing to bet that with a reflector, having a black window prolly isn't a great idea for incoming or reflected photons.

:)

Really? It keeps you from squinting while you are driving. Even with sunglasses I don't want to squint while I'm driving. I want it to be like a moving room. I want it to be cool and crisp too, even on a hot summer day. :D

especially since I complied with teh man's directive and only installed "legal" tint ... limo tint wood be moar effective

window shade + limo tint wood repel the pesky photons, butt I think a technical explanation wood require delving into teh Knot Theory.

Installing a high performance window film can reduce your car’s interior surface temperatures by as much as 16°C (29°F)… creating a more comfortable ride, lessening the burden on the air conditioning system, and saving fuel.

those are factory 20" wheels. I'll pry go with 4's or 6's though for the summer and use the factory wheels for the winter. and i'm gonna drop it 2" in the front 3" in the back to get rid of some of that gap between the tire and the fender.

nah, when done right 6's look clean. If you don't lower them the wheel/fender gap makes them look like a donk.

You gotta spend the money and lower the stance

Every time you guys start talking about washing cars, I realize I inadequately take care of mine. :(

I seldom hit up automatic car washes bc I always leave with water spots. Washing my car for me means me in the driveway with a hose and some type of soap. That's it.

Not good? :worried:

If the soap is not a detergent, butt a dedicated car wash product, otherwise you'll remove any protection wax/sealant (same with automatic car washes)

I'm an apt dweller ... hosing/car maintenance is frowned upon

I use a 5 gallon bucket with a rinseless product

No Rinse Wash and Shine

then, dry with a waffle weave

changed my mind.. i looked at the tire size i would need for 24's .. 315 35 24.. no way i would do 35 tire width in nyc.. 22's it will be! if i get a truck, like i plan on doing

24's aren't bad....I had them on a tahoe of mine about 7 or 8 years ago. It should be plenty big enough tire to protect the rim, but i've never driven in NYC either. lol

lol that's all I do is use automatic car washes. I can't stand driving a dirty car, but lol @ washing it by hand every time it rains

ololololol! @ Cindy thinking about PICK3 warning her of the detergents stripping her paint protection and fading her exterior trim the next time she's at the car wash

gotta wait 24 hours between applying sealant and then waxing, kneegrow

Nah, I found some Meguiars Mild Clay that I used, worked pretty good. Our meguiars Rep must have dropped it off.

I waited 12 hours between the sealant and the wax. I've always heard anywhere between 8 and 24 hours

I almost bought one just like that.

When they went under they were having an "HP Touchpad" sale. Big discounts.

Yeah, I bought it last year for $7,000 which was way back of book. It increased in value a lil over $2500 from when I bought it.

I'll get $15,000-$15,500 out of it now.
