Got the call!

Well after 5 months of being persistent, I may have a job in Virginia where my honey is at! Nothing official yet, but at least she damn well called instead of just ignoring my calls and e-mails! I am pretty stoked, but am trying not to set myself up to be let down hard. I figure she never would have called if I wasn't suited for the position. Anyways, just need to share some inkling of good news. Hopefully there will be more soon!

Congratulations! What part of VA? If you are talking about Northern VA, you can just come here and start looking, the jobs are plentiful. Hope it works out.

I dunno about that...but it is an area very rich in jobs.

Well...it turns out that I don't have enogh experience to be qualified to get a training visa Apparently you need very specific experience in the hospitality of food service industry. Being a waitress/bartender doesn't count. I am very qualified in the health field, but that's a whole other story! Damn it, I'm never gonna get there!
Thank you all for your kind words and wishes. I guess I'll continue working 3 jobs to pay everything off and just retire temporarily in the spring. Shit this is driving me insane! Better start planning another trip! Ha ha...thanks again.

You should do what I told my boyfriend to do, cross the Canadian American border and don't come back. Tell them you are going to visit a friend in the states and will be back in a few days. They don't follow you after you cross or anything. Then once you get to VA find a good immigration lawyer to help you become legal so that you can work and such. My mom's friend and her family did this and are legal citizens now. I'm seriously going to look into it for him. Dealing with this distance is a pain in the ass. Somedays it's so overly frustating, isn't it?
