Got some $,what should I buy? karma for help

Ok well I have narrowed it down to a few choices--any help with these (price range and good places) is greatly appreciated. I will give + karma for help if anyone really gives a fuck....


1. Those Dial a weight Dumbbells---the brands I know of are Select Tech and Bowflex---not bowflex for sure because they are astronomically priced
Looking for a set (2) I figure it would good time off my day to day seeing as how I train that way example: (50,45,40,etc...)


2. A handgun -- I like guns,but it wouldnt really help me too much Not sure on what kind yet, might go to a gun show or something


3. One of those high-tech metal detectors (the kind that gives you an image of the object on screen, its depth and if I really shell out the ones that can accuratly determine the type of metal

#1 is for day to day ease--but its not really a problem---con---$ overpriced + shipping if online would be extreme

#2 Just plain fun, but unneccesary

#3- I live in the country, there is all kinds of "treasures" around where I live (civil war stuff) and an indian mound on my own property
I spend a great deal of time outdoors, and this is one of my hobbies so I am leaning this way--but need help on finding a good one of these(others include botany, and sinister acts of evil...)

My prob with metal detector is I dont know exactly what I am getting into.

No shit rob, I just got a Colt1911 Government model and its a nice piece of work. Got Wilson Combat mags for it also so its good to go.

But I do spend a lot of tiome outdoors, and metal detecting is a hobby of mine (I use the old coil type that goes nuts over a piece of brick....)

I could afford both.......but what about the d bells? ( i have a normal set its good enough I suppose)

whoaa, thats huge! take speaker wire, attach it to the prongs, stand against a railing in a busy mall or something, lower the speaker wire down to the next floor, and zap people that walk by! its fucking hilarious!! lol

Get the gun cause then u can obtain all the other items you mentioned as well. I just bought a new Jennings handgun for fifty bucks so I mighjt be going shopping tommorow....

I think Im going to buy the metal detector after some research (Gun later)

There seem to be 2 main brands ---whites and garret (also looking on ebay)


for me to buy just a decent improvement it would cost 200-400$
for me to go all out and get the top of the line
(even takes into account ground minerals and defines metal type/size/image on screen/auto programs/etc...) basically the whole works! It would cost a lil more than $1000 at the name brand site--(could prob. buy elsewhere for 700-800$)

what do you think--go all out and empty my wallet on the top of the line
or buy a lesser but still expensive one?
